Objective ranking with tier gaps. Could be early on Corrode but between the insane LONG rotates, high bullet penetration on site, and weird top mid I'm ready to call this the worst map in the game.

1. Split - Near perfect map, excellent verticality
2. Lotus - Amazing map, 4 unique map features
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Great-Good
3. Bind- Unique fast paced map
4. Haven- Classic Valorant map, no glaring flaws
5. Ascent- Classic albeit repetitive Valorant map, leans defense side
6. Sunset- New interpretation of Classic Valorant map, short rotates
7. Breeze- Long Range Duel Map, over-hated, large sites
8. Pearl- Mixed Long/Mid/Short range duels, average map
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meh-Wack
9. Fracture- Unique layout, higher orb count, longer rotates
10. Abyss- Unique “fall” aspect, long rotates
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Garbage
11. Icebox- Poor site and mid design
12*. Corrode- Very long rotates, poor site design, too many bullet penetrable walls, truck driving away with my FPS
Breeze with tube is the only version of Breeze I want. My theory is the community holds on to the nostalgia of hating something that has been replaced several times over as the worst .
Check where I ranked it and tell me if you think I love this map or probably also dislike it but think the other maps are worse.
Subjectively I think you can put Breeze bottom 3 but you need admit that a streamer gave you your opinion
the map is so big that every round is either over in the first 20 seconds or lasts until the final 15. It is stale and boring and quite frankly a pain to watch and play
I am not saying it is amazing lets check the goalpost position real quick. I am saying it's over-hated, cause the exact things you mention are there and worse in other maps like Abyss, Corrode, and Fracture, as well as Icebox and Pearl to lesser degrees. Is it the best map in the game? Obviously not, is it the worst? Also definitely not, not by any serious redeeming quality from Breeze, but because the other maps I mentioned are genuinely worse.
okay first of all it aint that deep, second abyss should also be in the bottom 3 I agree with that, but corrode and fracture employ parts of good maps that make them better (corrode has an ascent esque mid and split esque b site, and fracture has many lanes but no mid like bind) than breeze as a whole
Not deep agreed. A map can have parts of it that are good, but overall how the map fits together, key positions, average timings is more important. I personally like Fracture, but ranked it lower than Breeze cause of average ranked experience and the canyon sized diff between watching teams who know what they are doing and teams who don't. Corrode I don't agree, but acknowledge my take is early. That map plays horrible and watching pro teams play it has not made it better.
fair. I should also take into account that, now that more teams have a good neon, it should make breeze maybe more enjoyable. I think personally giving corrode the benefit of the doubt is better but the meta comp seems to have already been found and it might be getting quite stale with how often its played.
Yeah I think Breeze during the Chamber meta was such cancer that it scarred a generation of Valo players lol, I remember that mf A main and it was not fun when the Chamber was on one. Not that the map is really better, but with meta changes kind of helping and with more bad maps it is relatively higher ranked. I think general community perception of Corrode is low and you are right about giving it time, hopefully it feels better or they update some things. I just don't see how the improve the rotates on that map without changing every section of mid, the overall size, or something else more drastic. Lowk put a teleporter in somewhere, fix the bullet pen in more places, and close one of the angles in top mid to D spawn and I'm down.
Why Icebox is considered a good map in Valorant
Despite being a somewhat divisive map, Icebox is often praised for its unique features that emphasize tactical gameplay, verticality, and strategic utility usage.
Here's a breakdown of why it's considered a good map:
  1. Unique verticality and complex angles
    Multi-Level Sites and Nests: Both A and B sites feature different elevations and "nests" accessible via ropes and ziplines, creating interesting angles for both offense and defense. This necessitates constant vertical awareness and strategic crosshair placement, distinguishing it from flatter maps.
    Vertical Ziplines: These provide quick access to elevated positions, adding another layer of strategic depth and requiring players to anticipate and react to vertical pushes.
    Diverse Terrain: Icebox mixes indoor areas like the factory-like A site with outdoor spaces like the B site shipping yard, offering varied combat scenarios.
  2. Tactical emphasis and strategic utility
    Reliance on Utility and Executes: Due to its numerous corners, elevated positions, and ziplines, Icebox heavily favors agents with strong utility for clearing angles, blocking sightlines, and executing site takes.
    Mid-Control Importance: Similar to Ascent, controlling the Mid area on Icebox is crucial for both sides to facilitate rotations, flank attacks, and overall map control.
  3. Dynamic gameplay and agent diversity
    Risk-Reward Mechanics: The horizontal zipline on A site, for example, presents a clear risk-reward scenario. While it offers a dominant position, players using it become vulnerable targets.
    Emphasis on Skirmishes and Sharp Aim: The map's layout encourages frequent engagements at various ranges, requiring adaptable gameplay and solid shooting skills.
    Diverse Agent Viability: Agents like Jett (with her Updraft), Omen (with his Shrouded Step), Sova (with his Recon Bolt and Owl Drone), Viper (with her Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud) and Killjoy (with her Turret and Nanoswarms) can shine on Icebox by leveraging its unique features.
Icebox stands out due to its distinct verticality and the strategic challenges it presents to players, demanding not just sharp aim but also strategic planning and skilled utility usage. It's a map that rewards adaptation and coordinated team play.
