What are some old/past rosters that at the time that didn't look special, had no hype or looked average, but today would be an insane roster that you'd expect to be one of the best.

XSET. Tbh towards the end of 2022 they got much better but still even that is nothing to what Cryo and Zekken on the same roster would look like today.
I'm sort of torn on this one. We obviously know how good Zekken and Cryo are now, but the rest of the roster (and the coaching staff as well) aren't exactly inspiring. Since then, AYRIN has played one year on GE (which was unproductive), BCJ got benched and is now grinding in tier 2, and and dephh played a split with 23 SEN. Even SykkoNT's time with SEN wasn't that good and after a split in tier 2, he isn't doing anything in Val atm.
TLDR; Zekken + Cryo are obviously gods, but the rest aren't what would make the team "obviously one of the best"

The streets can only wonder what Guild could've done at LCQ and then Champs if the Twisten transfer went through and they didn't have to play with bum ahhh Yacine

you'd think sayf trexx and leo would be such a good core it wouldn't really matter what bums played the other 2 slots but they just unfortunately weren't :(

yaa same with geng no one belived cause munchkin bad IGL in T1 t3xture avg. performance in GE abd neteore was not good on dualist in 2023 and HSK with DFM 0 win racorde in 2023
Oh true. They slept on GenG and they had karon who was a rookie as well. And lakia was in a slump back then

nrg 2022 except and even though they were recent and only failed in the very last split id say probably oxygen 2024
i mean 2023 GE Roster on paper, is crazyy good (role issues and t3xture's language issues aside). they had one of the best duelists, crazy good duelist/controller player in Monyet, Bazzi has really crispy aim, Wronski is also really good fragger, and Ayrin was ok-ish, but still had a lot of experience
