Since so many people are hell bent on defending EWC (mostly EMEA fans ngl) I just wanted to list some issues that I saw with it.

China regionals already started, had to start playing in china already, take a 10 hour flight to saudi, has to deal with time zone change, and then has to fly back to deal with time zone change again and has to start playing again.
Teams had issues with rosters and had to play with subs
bo1s opening games
Old patch + old map pool (realistically who is prepping old maps for the next stage)
Single elim playoff bracket

Honestly if they run it back in EWC next year with changes to this and actually better scheduling from riot it would be MUCH better

Kru went 4-1 while gentle mates went 1-4 (didnt make playoffs) ahahahh.

Good point, people that put them at same level than any master are doing a huge mistake (And people that put it AHEAD first master of the year has loose their mind)

Do you think EWC could be considered at the same level as a regional win ?

No worry, your mind go back when you talk about something else, but on that specific subject... Saying that EWC > Bangkok... While every point the OP did bring, I don't see how you could defend that. Would you like to bring counter arguments to that ?

1. Early season events issue:
New rosters, new coaches, 0 synergy, shallow map pool, new meta (lack of understanding), level of play very low

2. 8 team issue:
Wolves was the lowest chinese seed (3rd), PRX lowest apac seed (1st), TL lowest EMEA (Nearly beat PRX with 0 prac and jetlag). Also too few teams are at these events. Its takes far less to win them. A few matches and its over.

Less team mean it's way harder to qual, in fact in every master you've got 48 team participating. I dont get how "It's harder to qual to this event" turn out into "then this event is lower importance"

Since so many people are so desperate to hate (mostly fans of losing teams) I just wanted to list some issues that I saw with it.

China has had scheduling problems this whole year, playing international games up to a month apart from regular season games. All teams have to deal with time zone changes not just china teams, also wouldn't it be an advantage already playing an official?
-Teams always have issues with rosters, visa issues, Heretics played 2 vct internationals without their starting roster, and many more.
bo1s opening games (their was already a bo1 vct official tournament)
Old patch + old map pool (Its the final tournament before changes, just like any other VCT International)
Single elim playoff bracket (IG lock in doesn't exist?)
Theirs will always be complains about scheduling no matter the changes

bo1s opening games

EWC hold 21 game titles tournament, and longest event for 1 specific game title is 10 days for DOTA with majority of game titles event goes for 3/4/5 days MAX. Most of VCT games with bo3 and double elim masters/champs events has ALWAYS BEEN 14 days + (TOO LONG and don't suit EWC). Compromise to squeeze in 16 teams in such short days have been making Stream A & B, but even that is not enough, either include bo1 somewhere and/or deal with traditional sport single elimination.
