This entire tournament is a brand new meta on a new patch that completely changes the way that teams are playing the game. Valorant is a game where meta is incredibly important in deciding the strength of a team, and shifting away from the tejo/breach meta forces teams to come up with new and untested meta calls, and to play the entire game in a different way than before.

This is likely why some of these teams look out of sorts right now, as they have had to shift their entire playstyle and adapt to the meta in a matter of a few weeks. Obviously, this doesn't completely excuse a terrible showing like the 13-1's that we've had the past couple of days, but it is still a huge factor imo.

I think whoever gets to 13 before the opponent gets to 12 will win the match. it’s a tough pill to swallow for some users (mostly emea) but it’s the truth.

I see your point, but you've completely ignored the possibility of 2 teams reaching 12 at the same time. In your fantasyland, you have created a system where the core foundations of the game dissolve entirely when two teams reach a 12-12 scoreline. You have provided no solution for this conundrum and have doomed the game of Valorant to relegation as a joke of an esport, one which doesn't account for the rather commonplace occurrence of a necessity for an overtime rule set.

Do better

Fr mibr should be relegated for their 13-1 loss, and TH just got unlucky with theirs really

I knew many teams were gonna either get screwed or have a glow up after the tejo nerf. Teams that were great playoffs might not be great now since meta changed so much

Honestly, as broken as tejo was, I think it was a bad call from riot to change him when they did. They either needed to do it sooner, so that regional playoffs were in the new meta, or wait until after Toronto. Having one of your 3 international events be the testing ground for the new meta is not it

Its bad timing but tejo was unwatchable, they needed to do it as soon as possible

Yeah, I would've preferred they did it before playoffs

Yeah I agree, I think it just needed to happen before regional playoffs. Having it now makes the level of play at Toronto much lower than it should be, as we've seen in the first few swiss stage matches

Agreed. Many teams entire post plant setup on many maps was reliant on the Tejo to win time and the round. Removing Tejo from the equation means they need to change how they go about the round after spike is down
