Well it’s Riot who is forbidding to stream the games because they are at the same time as the playoffs. Specially forbidding it for Americas when there isn’t even schedule clash
The rule “no off-season matches can be broadcasted if they clash with Riot’s official events” has been there since VCT’s inception so why is Riot being blamed for EWC’s retarded scheduling. Like I can understand why american fans would be upset since they finished their playoffs weeks ago but what does EMEA have to do with it

This is not an exactly an offseason event, this is a major event where Riot is partnered and they are ultimately the responsible people to facilitate things and make a good product

Riot has no decision making power on how exactly EWCs organizes their event.
They set boundary rules the rest is up to the organizers. Otherwise it wouldn't be a 3rd party event, would it?
It’s not a third party event like others. Riot is an official partner and they are being paid a shit time of money to allow this tournament
EMEA ends 2 weeks after every other region for no reason. They could have coordinated better. And yes it’s THEIR game, they have the responsibility of caring enough about this things to figure it out
And another thing. Tier 2 games are being played everyday at the same time as VCT. The reason it’s not allowed it’s because Riot consider this a Major event themselves

You saying that the scheduling part is not their fault is silly. I dont disagree that these are silly regulations, but this isn’t something riot just made up on the spot. We have known Split 1 schedules for a long time now. EWC were either completely aware of these issues and still decided to hold the tournament today (despite the vitality voting thing implying that they couldve very well moved the date) or their planning was so poor that they never bothered to ask riot about broadcasting rights while split 1 is ongoing.
Yes the riot regulations are dumb, but this is like willingly walking into a wall and then blaming the wall for getting hurt. EWC could have simply avoided these issues.

As I said I agree EWC has part of the fault. But it just so happens that Riot is also the owner of the wall and they are responsible for no one leaving the mari of their face on their fucking wall xD

To me this is simply to separate issues: stupid regulations and stupid scheduling. Riot is entirely at fault for regulations, but scheduling is on EWCs part.
