is y’all’s food that bad ? like fr?
our food isn't dreadful it's just quite plain. Still nice but nothing crazy.
we stole all the best food from abroad anyway and so you can still get a lot of good variety.
basically
our signature "cuisine" is mostly just different ways to use up different parts of meat with potatoes or pastry
and England specifically has the signature dish of Tikka masala which is fittingly curry invented by migrating people from SEA because the Brits at the time couldn't handle the full range of spices 😭
literally the only traditionally british food i eat with any sort of regularity is fish and chips and its fire
granted i don't eat meat so im missing out on a lot of it but i wouldn't say it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be
We unironically never got over rationing, and the guy in charge of our rationing was a super picky eater so made our food as neutral as possible
white british people's food is a bottom tier cuisine (it's not like... actively bad like some Scandinavian food mostly, just, most cuisines actually have strong points...)
Most people just eat ethnic food more than anything though me thinks, I do atleast.
traditional british food is bland. Think of it like american food, the majority cuisine consumed in the country is a mix of different cultures nowadays but the traditional food is really really bland but somehow due to the weather its suitable for the average brits appetite
As an Asian who lived in Leeds and London for two years, their food was okay, but I needed to buy some Asian spices to get more flavor.
