well I mean it is different, people that live in North America that aren't indigenous are from other places. If you live in Europe, your entire family is probably from the same exact town let alone country.
American is just the nationality and citizenship, not the ethnicity or culture
not making the assertion that I am from a different country and I am very open about me being american, just representing another culture that I interact with and enjoy, its something that plenty of people on vlr do. also america is a young country built on immigration and people mixing their cultures together, so of course they talk about their heritage
