u feel like way because they have no superstars
they are 5 above average players that work well together, and if they work well together they play good together
above average is like b, they are 5 a tier players - icy maybe b tier but then I would contest valyn s tier, so average it out
They also don't play inherently interesting/engaging Valorant, so it makes them seem boring or not as good as other teams. But they work so well together and all have very good discipline

Leaf is a superstar atleast to me . He is the goat and was always been for me .
they don’t have a t3xture or an aspas or even a duelist wo0t for example. if you watch their games they’re actually structured and solid but it can only get them so far
So far They are ahead from Aspas & t3xture tho. No need for a superstar. Its not like there is much superstar left on NA
true but they are not ahead of t3xture. he actually has a good team that goes on par with g2 despite lakia and munchkins shitty performance vs TH

he’s slowly improving i’ll give him that. his performance on bind was a literal must for them to win
I had this exact same question and a video I watched recently explained it for me
They just play incredibly boring Valorant. They do the fundamentals, default, play retake, and have no crazy super stars on their team. Nothing they do stands out but that translates to winning a lot of the time. They are good just not really interesting.

For real tho. I'll say this, any other ascension team would get glazed like crazy rn if they accomplished what G2 have accomplished as a team. Including the guard era. They have been this consistent for so long. 2022 though 2024. stop being stupid
They play perfect Valorant except for when Icy is going -20. Honestly the only thing that could make them better is a more consistent duelist. If they don’t get top 4 at champs I see jaw or OXY or even N4RRATE joining them.
G2 is undoubtably good. They excel at incredibly disciplined teamplay without centering their plans on a star player. You’ll often see a completely even scoreboard across all five players because they bait and trade for each other. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say they have the best synergy and trade spacing.
Their player quality is nothing to scoff at either:
- Valyn | Top 3 itw IGL and Smokes | S
- Leaf | Top 5 itw Sentinel | A+
- JonahP | Top 5 itw Flex | A+
- Trent | Top 2 Americas Recon | A
- Icy | Top 5 Americas Duelist | B+
As long as Icy continues to gain confidence and they let him off the leash a bit like they did for that EDG Bind Map, they could win Champs.
He’s just a bit inconsistent. He has the makings of an A+ Duelist but he disappears some maps and it’ll take some more experience for him to comfortably let loose and make those explosive hero plays we expect from world class duelists.

None of them are really that big personalities in streaming or in the valorant community really
pretty much every team has a really charismatic guy that streams and is really funny that the community wants to support
but as far as I know ive never seen any g2 players stream or do content where they show their personality. but its easy to tell that leaf is funny
