- gen.g and other teams had this advantage and still lost in finals before

fnatic won against it in emea finals, that was the latest one in one of many such incidents.
need some reward for upper bracket.
in fighting games its more brutal, where the player coming from losers needs to win two sets in a row.
The Team has to have some Advantage to go directly into the Grand Final without losing.
I think teams should ban 1 map each and then Upper bracket picks the first two maps
In the double map ban era, lower bracket team are 4-2. So maybe TH is just worse than GenG

PRX lost to FPX with 2 map bans
LOUD won vs OPTIC 2 map bans
Lock in didn't have it
FNATIC won vs EG with 2 map bans
PRX lost to EG with 2 map bans
GEN G lost to SEN with 2 map bans
2 wins with 2 map bans
4 losses with 2 map bans
Safe to say more seems like a con than a pro coming from upper
Just because more teams have won despite not getting any bans doesn't mean it's a disadvantage for the team getting the bans lmao what. 0 logic, definitely not "safe to say"
Having a '2nd life' in playoffs is still better than having an extra ban in grand finals
Originally, in some old esports, it used to be even harsher for lower bracket finalists. Back then if you would come from lower bracket, you would need to legitimately win 2 series vs the upper bracket grand finalist, because every team could lose at least once and continue, even if it was grand finals
Don't forget that the team that advanced from the lower bracket has already exercised their "crazy" right to lose once.
Only if the team in the upper bracket loses 3-2, the team in the upper bracket can choose a map and play BO1 and the winner is the winner.
