to have your fav team not be from your fav region? cuz my fav region is my home one - emea and my fav team is nrg (not the org necesarily, just the franchising one cuz i was just a fan of optic before)

no i dont think its normal
fav region should = fav team
but it doenst matter if its normal or not, keep being an NRG/OPTC fan
who cares if it's normal, support the team you want and don't let anyone bash you for it.
I love heretics, vitality, PRX, Gen.G and Edward. my fav team is 100T though and I also enjoy most other Americas teams + QoR if we're counting non-franchised
I think eSports should always be about the players and not the org, I think having patriotism for your region is great but there is nothing wrong with realizing that a player is a cool person and fun to watch and enjoying that too.
I'm good friends with someone who is dating someone who lived in the QoR house and played for them. She has hung around the QoR guys a lot and they're all fantastic individuals and super dedicated to the game and just fun to be around. I'm hoping for the best for them since I know how dedicated they are and how hard they work 🫡
and also tdawgg is the goat and I love dr. pepper
personally been a fnatic fan in all sorts of e-sport since i was a kid, so for me its the org itself, not to mention they have had some absolute insane teams in cs/lol/valorant and recently the arguably best tft player aswell
Based on this theory, I should not support any team. I believe esports transcends nationalities and regions.
I just cheer for south americans because i feel a natural attachment to those players but i also cheer for other regions when i like them, im a huge fan of alfajer for example even if i dont really like fnatic
