To me, even though Blast production is insane, ESL especially IEM Katowice and Cologne events is better overall: special storyline, music, and also good production! VCT is good too but its just not my taste tbh.
EDIT: After seeing today's VCT Americas LCQ production, I don't really know what to say lol
Never talked about hentai on here but now I will. Itβs trash! Poor animation, amateur voice acting, dumb plots and they are next level degen. I watch anime for the animation and story not for wankery ππ
Val got these futuristic stages and shit which is dope and fits the game well, but overall cs production is better id say especially casters and you can just feel that the games been around for a long time
Definitely fits the game for sure, just not my taste. I wonder if a change to make it more epic is possible, rn its too cyberlike
ive been following the casters this year in CSGO and its lacking, even the paris major/the current blast games, they're rambling too much about random things because there's nothing to comment on in game due to the save meta. csgo casting talent is still better but it seems even the casters are waiting for CS2 to actually cast, right now they seem like they're on autopilot. The faze vs liquid game had a lot of hype moments and the casters were too uninterested to cast properly.
If u are talking about the blast fall groups, thats just it always is, this event is more laid back compared to big events. Once you reach Cologne and Fall Finals, casting becomes much more serious.
Maybe in the beginning stages of the groups, the major had absolutely amazing production idk what u mean
The esports scene was big around 2015 and never mainstream and sponsored until around 2018ish when esports started to be taken much more serious
relax both are fine.. the two only safe ones.. complain abt pgl or anyone else
the only good thing abt vct production in comparison to cs are the stages and probably the music but thats all lol
I really like the player pic columns in the CS Lan stages tbh, it completely changes everything. As for the music, its personal preference for everyone, but I definitely like more hype and emotional music from ESL.
I've only watched a little bit of pro csgo, but the actual in-game production is better. However, the general hype around games/tournaments and the teasers/promotional material are way better in Val imo.
Hmm I respectfully disagree as I think the hype around CS games are insane, but I think Valorant may be more mainstream now, so I can see your point being valid.
My wording wasn't that great. There's a lot of hype around CS matches, where even people like me who don't watch the game at all hear about it. I meant more in the sense of promotional videos, teasers, and trailers for the event. The teasers that drop for each event, while admittedly corny, add a nice flair to the game, one which I haven't seen in CS, but tbf I could have just missed it.
I also think the fact that Val is more of an international game helps as well, compared to CS which from what I can tell is essentially EU vs EU with a sprinkling of NA and BR every now and then. The international story lines that Val has helps boost the hype going into the events.
Yea I definitely agree, I said Valorant is more mainstream when it comes to this.
As for the region thing, CS used to be way more international with NA and BR back in 2015-2019. I think Covid and Valorant ruined the NA scene, but hopefully CS2 will revive it a bit with more tier 1.5/2 orgs entering such as the recent M80. BR still has a couple of teams, but not as strong as they used to be
CSGO events feel like network TV Super Bowl type stuff
Valorant events feel like high school production type stuff especially with the small crowds.
Tokyo was cool though
3 years is not really new anymore, its reaching towards its midyears. Obviously compared to CS, it is a toddler, but in general for games. Esports hasnt even lift off its foot completely until 2018ish, so it is easier to be noticed than before
why is vct the same like that from the first year until now? BECAUSE RIOT HAS SIGNED A LONG-TERM CONTRACT FOR VCT PRODUCTION FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS AND THEY WILL USE THE SAME PRODUCTION, just wish riot would change their production team after the contract ended.
CS clears valorant hardcore when it comes to production and hype
Valorant's casters just are not up to scratch and can someone PLEASE get lothar away from that fucking desk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAMudlpLMvQ
blast doing this mid game KKKKKKKKK
I saw that live too, pretty funny yet impressive how production manage to pull this after the round just ended
cs is just better, they got the goat anders casting, and the scriptwriters are actually good
CS 100%
Events feel almost like actual sports events - casters, analysts etc are all absolutely top tier, no comparison in my book
blast is no doubt the π for production, they just need to stop making shit like that goofy ahh last major trophy π
and the blast tv music on timeouts are so relaxing I don't think anything can beat it.
One thing I have to say though, except for the 2021-2022 masters square prism trophies, the new vct trophies are really cool
I think everyone agrees that the Paris major trophy is shit even hard csgo fans. As for the new Valorant trophies, I would say its definitely different, but I personally prefer classic big, silver trophies like the Cologne or Katowice.
Valorant is still in process, but yes, there's space for growth. I remember that years ago the csgo events where pretty rudimentary, also product of its time.
