My thoughts are that NA is in the process of revival, from a dead scene with a mid tier 1 team and other NA teams irrelevant to a top 6 team (coL), a title contender team on paper (Liquid), and a tier 1.5 with tier 1 potential team (NRG), this is a return. M80 is gradually getting better too, and there are more talents scattered between tier 2/3 teams that are promising such as jba. Compared to EU, it's still on a smaller scale, but at least it's not dead like 6 months ago.

Dont make it sound like a bad thing since CS has banging maps. All Riots fault for not letting the community get involved and create good maps.

Np man i didn’t realize how much I typed lmao

Where is the stat to prove that? Valorant is not there yet in China, where it just released lmao and CS has been there for years with huge Chinese fans.

Heres a website to see past tournaments easier if you’re new.
https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/S-Tier_Tournaments

Events:
S+: Majors - sponsored by Valve and chosen TO organizes it (2 per year typically one usually in Spring and one in Fall); IEM Katowice (Feb/March) and Cologne (June/July) - events that feel like a major but not technically (organized by ESL); Blast World Final (typically in December) - slightly under the previous events imo in terms of hype and prestigiousness but still huge event (organized by Blast ofc)

S: Blast Spring Final and Fall Final - season big events, Fall final is little more hype usually since it is in Copenhagen Royal Arena with a bigger CS audience; IEM events - big events but not as huge as Cologne or Katowice, around 3-4 events spread out per year, location depends but some in the past were in Sydney, Rio, Beijing, Dallas (very common per year), etc.

S-: ESL Pro League (variable time every year)- this is borderline to S tier as it has a big prizepool, but this is a chill event, but games are still very hype typically; Blast Spring and Fall Groups - big events to get qualified to Blast Spring Finals and Fall Finals. If you bomb out, you get another chance to qualify through Blast Spring and Final Showdown which is basically LCQ; Gamers8 - new organizer event that was added recently with a huge prizepool but the event itself is smaller than the rest (unsure if this event will continue next year and so forth).

Rest are A or below tier you can find on the link. If you think this is a lot, there used to be more events back then 2015-2019. My thoughts is that I like how many events there is because I can always watch many good events throughout the year.

Eu heavy viewers, so yea timezones is a thing. But another is that CS pros are busy most of the time, so they dont stream. Otherwise, S1mple gets like 20-30k viewers when he is live. On the other hand, when pro CS matches are live such as ESL, Blast, or a major, it gets a ton of views. CS2 will bring some casual content back, I expect much higher casual viewers then at least in the beginning

Hltv has much more engaging threads tbh, a lot more shitposting

I’ll rate your cs skin taste out of 10, could be a dream skin or already acquired. Any factors like budget, color scheme, patterns, good sticker crafts, uniqueness, etc may be used. Inventory rates are welcome too.

I’ll start:
AK Legion of Anubis, I really like art skins and personally a fan with the sticker craft options here. Also super cheap, FT is like $9.

Im not joking, its already confirmed its fake 128 and without demos u cant see ur games

posted 8 months ago

Do you know why they will never have a replay system? Because it will expose their servers on how its not really good as people think, not real 128 tick and people actually cheating

posted 8 months ago

I sincerely hope CS2 brings Asia influence. With the new announcements of a Shanghai major, Im optimistic and Valorant competition will help force Valve to do something.

I think everyone agrees that the Paris major trophy is shit even hard csgo fans. As for the new Valorant trophies, I would say its definitely different, but I personally prefer classic big, silver trophies like the Cologne or Katowice.

3 years is not really new anymore, its reaching towards its midyears. Obviously compared to CS, it is a toddler, but in general for games. Esports hasnt even lift off its foot completely until 2018ish, so it is easier to be noticed than before

posted 9 months ago

Maybe in the beginning stages of the groups, the major had absolutely amazing production idk what u mean

posted 9 months ago

Yea I definitely agree, I said Valorant is more mainstream when it comes to this.

As for the region thing, CS used to be way more international with NA and BR back in 2015-2019. I think Covid and Valorant ruined the NA scene, but hopefully CS2 will revive it a bit with more tier 1.5/2 orgs entering such as the recent M80. BR still has a couple of teams, but not as strong as they used to be

posted 9 months ago

I saw that live too, pretty funny yet impressive how production manage to pull this after the round just ended
