You must ease back in and give them things they appreciate. Do not love bomb them. Update them on how you are doing.
ask a open ended question, if something interesting comes up ask more about that
if not try a new question
make sure it doesn't become 20 questions by throwing in a joke between, ideally in reference to something earlier in the convo to show your listening
Remember, people like to talk about themselves, don't go on about valorant for example, they don't care (except being if they play valorant obv)
