Don't worry its not possible to jinx G2 like that. At most they'll get through groups and go out 8th place like usual.
Champs 2024 they get 7th-8th place, champs 2025 they get 7th-8th place. I wasn't talking about other internationals I was talking exclusively about champs, you know the tournament this whole thread is talking about.
Past 1.5 yrs. champs has never been a strong performance. If you don’t them there, beat em.
Genuinely some of the most uncalled for hate on a team. Sure they choke internationally, sure they never fail to qualify, sure they have big egos despite not winning anything, but mfs really just hate on them for being the better team on the day against teams that they don't even support. You'd think some people would have sympathy for the players (especially the remnants of the guard) who can never seen to make it happen, but people hate on them for LOSING.
The choke internationally shit is a little overplayed. They've only had like one truly bad performance and that was London. Both Champs 2025 and 2024 were okay performances, and 2025 was against PRX and DRX a top 4 and 3 team respectively, one of which was the previous international winner. They've been top 2 once, top 3 once, top 4 twice, like people need to actually look for a moment. They are also the only team to take a map off of NS during their absolutely insane run

g2 was not hated in 2024, acc quite popular I'd say, but then came the immortal the unpredictable the unexpected g2 Jump and it's really all been downhill from there.
people didn't LIKE the jump, but I think by now people have accepted what it is; it is, if you're in an advantageous scoreline, just the best thing to do to stop a comeback; many teams die to spike, this just speeds it up. In fact, most teams have copied it by now at least one time and most streamers/fans have just accepted it as the best thing to do.
the REAL long-term hate started after the tejo gameplay, people hated that agent even though it was just objectively the best agent in the game and trent was the best player on it. They just didn't like the playstyle, and it's just downhill from there.
Yeah, people hated on G2 for the Tejo meta abuse, but barely anyone talks about NS and LEV abusing neon. The jump has been a thing with mollies in counter strike for as long as time itself and people who complain about it are probably miserable or lack joy in their life. They deserved to win Bangkok to be honest, but T1 came up with some crazy clutches (specifically that pearl toe spam)

- Tejo terrorism
- Picked up babyshit instead of a real flex player like seven

- Tejo terrorism only lasted for a single season. It shouldn’t tarnish their legacy of owning americas
