Sharks is undergoing a reconstruction period just prior to the start of VCT 2022. In late October 2020, following a group stage exit at the South America LCQ, the organization benched two of their players and released their coach. Most recently, in the final days of 2021, the Brazilian organization announced the signing of ex-Vikings Leandro "frz" Gomes.

The SAW trio that now joins transitioned from B7 Warriors B7 Warriors Inactive dimaxx Dmytro Paliy KILLDREAM João Ferreira Phatt Alexandre Silva Addicted Eduardo Torres starkk Gabriel Marques to SAW. They played under the latter throughout 2021, establishing the team as the best in Portugal and as a strong force in Iberia and Europe, often reaching the final rounds of VCT qualifiers. Due to controversy regarding the recent implementation of the Spanish Valorant Regional League, SAW released their roster, incapable of justifying owning a Valorant team.

For KILLDREAM himself, he'll be returning to Brazil for the third time. During his CS:GO career, the Portuguese player played for paiN Gaming and Keyd Stars, two Brazilian organizations. With the former, he elevated the team to a worldwide top 40.

The open qualifiers for Brazil Stage 1: Challengers are scheduled for January 12. Sharks, however, get a free pass to the group stage that will only begin on February 12.
