We must always recognize the works of 🐔 Joe
I have betrayed my region...
the only problem now is the title doesn't fit all on one line
thank you for pointing it out though <3
maybe it's just when I went but I thought kreuz in lockhart was better overall
I wouldn't call it bad by any stretch of my imagination but the difference might honestly just be taste preference
Not really sure if it counts as a hidden gem place since I'm more familiar with bbq than the average person but Tejas Chocolate and BBQ in northwest Houston is a place that I've been to and really enjoy
Another place is Killen's in Houston but I haven't been there personally
maybe among people not familiar with bbq but it's certainly one of the top places that people go to for good food
you forgot to mention that not all brisket is created equally and not all bbq joints are slam dunk places--some are 10/10 while others are 15/10
then again I'm kind of a bbq snob and have been to some of the most famous places in the state
that one's on me since I proofread it
changed
your wish is my command
(for legal reasons this is a joke)
match recaps and roster announcements are completely different from scrimbux?
my guy if you can't see the difference between those three things then I have no reason to continue a conversation with you
not to mention match recaps and roster announcements are literally the overwhelming majority of what esports journalism is
people subtweet all the time what's the harm in being toxic every once in a while
the way I understand it is they're criticizing the format he's making his posts in while calling himself a journalist, so yeah
fair point, but the number of randos now coming at me is actually kind of funny
see post #7
a guy living in your head rent-free enough that you felt the desire to make a thread about me
there's 20 comments coming at me at once lol I'm not a forum dweller anymore and have no desire to respond to every single perspective and opinion
yeah that qualifies as journalism and writing
a little dramatic but that's my $0.02
look mom I'm famous I made it in a VLR thread where someone is trashing me
again, not what I said
stop putting words into my mouth
I never said that he's forced to be that, but not providing more written elements other than Team X: +Player Y, Player Z | -Player A, -PlayerB and visual proof isn't journalism. Giving context and background is what bridges that gap.
I dislike gatekeeping in journalism as much as the next person but there's gotta be a line between what is journalism and what it isn't
being in the know is really a way of describing those that have an information network that others would otherwise not have access to
nosy how I'm describing it is sifting through info that has little to no face value and creating value out of it, but that's my opinion
I still stand by what I said as james_ff's work not being journalism but investigative content creation
being in the know and being nosy are two completely different things
people "begging for leaks" in the way that you seem to be framing it just isn't a thing, despite what others outside the know would believe
people "begging for leaks" in the way that you seem to be framing it just isn't a thing, despite what others outside the know would believe
the reality is that getting sources and people on the inside that know things to tell you stuff is entirely based on what connections you have and the trust you've built with them. it works in a similar way that sports leaks work with people like Adam Schefter of ESPN if anyone is familiar with the NFL and the roster leaks that he posts
also being a "propaganda machine" for orgs isn't really a thing either. a lot of people are curious as to what NRG's new roster is going to look like without s0m and FNS, so that creates a stock of interest that people like george would be wise to get info on so he can put out his own content out first to get the most eyes on his work. that's how all of this works. it's a content-based world and the producers of the content need to put effort into what will get good return on their time invested into it.
James work doesnt rely on favours or sucking up. There is no biased presentation. Nada.
It's just a lot of work these lazy bums aren't willing to do.
this is true, but anyone that truly is a journalist doesn't do favors or sucks up to others (because it's unethical and also easily paints you in a bad light), unless that's what you consider the relationships that people build just by talking with people online or in game
Yeah idk where this perception that all the journalists are in bed with each other is coming from but it's the furthest thing from the truth. People have beef with each other on the regular because of stuff that they do for their livelihood and careers and still get trashed by things like "ALLAT", "who cars", 2 follower twitter accounts and 🗿 spam
You can't really call what james_ff is doing "journalism" though because it's just not that. It's just being nosy (my opinion, but all the info is out there if you're willing to do the work, which he is doing) and posting your discoveries as content for others to consume. It's really investigative content creation, and calling yourself a journalist when you actually aren't is one of the fastest ways to get called out by people who are actually in the space doing the everyday work of covering things
It was a feature that was applied from tf.gg and over.gg and there's no reason to change it from a development standpoint
However on teamfortresstv the "secret fifth star" may or may not be something of a meme there I can't remember it's been super long since I visited that site
there are no plans to add a fifth star and there will likely never be plans for it
if bad takes were bannable then we would lose 90% of the traffic to this website
accounts cannot be deleted, whether they're user accounts or player profiles
most of the time we base the team flag on majority player nationality
there are exceptions like the teams you mentioned but that's the policy we've used since forever basically
No
stick to one account please mods don't like it when they have to ban people for posting on alts
5 weekdays vs 2 weekend days was never a fair matchup
it's long overdue for a rebalancing patch/team scramble imo
he's doing stuff for an APAC org so I'm not really sure what he's doing day to day
...and so we changed the rules to include it?
there were some people that (for some reason) didn't think that making alts to circumvent bans on the site is a bannable offense (it is, please don't do it) so we had to explicitly line it out in the rules
I've only issued you warnings about certain things
also why did this become a sudden Hudsen Q&A
you're on the wrong website if you want to discuss religion
one person's idea of "proper moderation" is another person's perspective of "total tyranny and mod abuse of power"
you can't please everyone
it's almost like the idea that posting things that are against site rules will get you banned 🤯
I actually didn't mean it as a deterrence sort of thing haha
at the very least try some barbecue it's worth it imo
I'd say yes, there's tons of stuff to do in Dallas but just be mindful of what parts of the area you're going to. There are nice parts of the area and other parts that I wouldn't bother going even in broad daylight.
I'm actually planning on doing a weekend trip there to visit one of my cousins in the fall
Edit: my only gripe might be that even in September it's still going to be scorching hot because we don't get an actual "fall" season until like late October so if you're not prepared you're going to have a bad time
+1 on this
I've been meaning to rewatch it but haven't been motivated enough to actually do it
no clue
there aren't any tips on what to look for in the database so I'm just going to assume their page isn't on the site
we will create team and player pages for you if you participate in a tournament that we cover
