Is it worth it to have kids?

I mean life makes me wonder, who’s gonna inherit my stuff? Who will remember me at least before I die? My shih tzu prolly doesn’t care about me because he’s not human? Who will look up to me? Like what’s the point of travelling and buying all these cool stuff if I have no one to share it with except my partner? Thoughts?

I’m renting and have only my car as asset and I have no debts. Is that stable enough? I get to travel like every 3 to 6 months to asia. Me and my gf work from home so we kinda team up on expenses etc.

I mean idk how stable you have to be (not lived long enough for that)

So essentially I’ve just said nothing lmao

you have kids because you want them, not because its worth it or its not worth it
its not some requirement to have kids in life, we're not going extinct anytime soon unless big bomb

if you want them, then understand the responsibilities that come with them
if you dont want them, then just live your life it dont matter

I just feel like I might regret it if I’m at that point where I can’t have kids anymore or so. Like maybe 1 wouldn’t hurt? Like I see some guys who have kids but they still get to enjoy stuff and live life no?

i dont have any kids im barely an adult myself, but what i can tell you is that the first few years will be really stressful, youll barely get time to do anything. after that yeah itll probably get a fair bit easier

but understand that this isnt just a "i want kids" thing, this is a life youre bringing into a world. you cant change your mind later

Thanks for this. Yeah and I also have a partner who also wants to have kids. We’re earning I’d say above average and we even get to save and also travel to asia from time to time to get a breather. We also both work from home for like the past 3 years now so I think we have things that we need. I also heard it’s dangerous for women to give birth at a late age?

of course, im glad my words helped

as for the dangerous part, i feel like ive heard that but i cant really confirm it since im not sure of it myself
sounds plausible though

100% what ace said

if you're just looking for a sense of purpose or belonging then you need to live for yourself, don't put that burden on a child for no reason other than that, have a child because you yourself want to cherish that soul and share experiences with them.

i also agree with the world being incredibly cruel so therefore you shouldn't bring one into the world because of that, but that's moreso just an opinion so if you're able to fully support them (not just monetarily) and want one for the reasons i stated earlier then it's good to have one because at the end of the day it is your life and you should do what YOU believe is right and what YOU want to live for.
but if you do genuinely want one pls understand the responsibility that comes with having a child, it's super intense and scary (not that you shouldn't have one because of this, just that it's extremely hard to raise one).

i believe in you no matter what you do <3

-expensive, responsibility, its a bad world, limits your freedom

I mean I’m pretty free. No debt, no other responsibilities except paying rent, car stuff, bills. I’m kinda getting sick of the routine of gym, work, valorant etc. Like it’s like something is missing and it’s not money because I try to spend it as much as I can and save too. Like do you also feel this?

I’m an 18 y/o student, haha, I don’t feel the same way, no. But I can imagine you do! It sounds like adding some new flavor to your life could be nice for breaking out of the same patterns, although getting kids is something to really think about hard.

I said the freedom part because I know some people that think that the normalized culture of getting children is something that limits their ability to stand up for their rights when necessary. When you have children, other things (allegedly) start to matter to you less, both because children take a lot of energy and time, and because you prioritize them.

You don't have to, but there is nothing in this world like having children (parap.,quote not mine)

She always wanted kids. Back then though we didn’t have money and car etc but fast forward to today we’re pretty okay. We have a g wagon fully paid, we don’t have a house yet and we’re renting since we love the flexibility especially we work from home so. All I do is play Valorant, work, gym, then travelling to Asia from time to time or attend champs basically

Worth, but take care of your kids with your life because karma gonna hit you hard when you are older if you miscare them.

Having a kid is not a problem but parenting is hard because it is very easy to release your frustration on the kid which could effect his childhood

tbh, I think it's a little bit of work, but I'm sure it's worth it
