ENVY TRUTH NUKE

Mark my words, that playstyle of theirs, that ‘ranked-style’ stuff, running through smokes and holding W in every situation, it’s not gonna work against most of the franchise teams.

That kind of gameplay doesn’t hold up in tier 1. If they do get promoted (only if TSM chokes), they’re gonna get heavily punished. In tier 2, most teams don’t know how to deal with that kind of aggression, which is why it works for them.

The closest team to their playstyle in tier 1 is Paper Rex, but PRX actually has tactics, fundamentals, aim, and way better team coordination. It’s a whole different level, and it took them years to refine that style.

If you want competitiveness in Americas, you better hope TSM gets promoted

Some Envy fans really think they’re gonna move up and win Americas and then Masters Santiago right after.

It’s not that obvious for a lot of the brain-dead people on VLR who have zero understanding or sense of tactics

You are just falling for bait or half hearted posts, 99% people say that cause it is funny and to hype the team.

Don’t worry TSM will always beat NV. Timotino owns canezerr0, unless they put Cane on Clove

I would rather have ENVY ascend and serve as the bar for good Americas teams vs bad ones, than fucking TSM gweemond compete with C9 for most mid NA team

Isn’t C9 already serving as that bar, if Oxy goes 67/26 against your team you’re shit

ENVY vs MIBR.
Inspire, Eggster, and Poppin push through a smoke. (as they tend to do multiple times every match)

Waiting for them is a well-prepared defensive setup designed to counter exactly this kind of aggressive playstyle, one typical of players with years of tier-1 experience. But within seconds, they’re taken down by Aspas holding the site solo, while Zekken rotates and finishes off the remaining players.

The counter to such aggressive play is straightforward: the moment they try to push through that first smoke, they’ll be punished instantly, as most top (even mid) teams would do.

okay no shit they’re losing to Aspas and Zekken but so are all 46 7 other teams in the league

a lot of their aggressive play comes down to looking for smart timings. Yes, that does include pushing through smokes, which doesn't always work. however, a lot of tier 1 teams have this same overarching playstyle of disrespecting their opponent's utility and looking to stay on the attack whenever it makes sense to. their playstyle is not unique, but the way they mix their playstyle with their agent pool is.

you realize they’ll probably make a lot of changes and this is more of a way for envy to get back into valorant. i think they know better than anyone that they’ll need to change a lot to be competitive.

Envy could be competitive too, cane and ion can't play next year. Egg is perma yoru(current meta), inspire is a good senti, poppin can improve with good coaching. They can't be top 6 for sure in tier-1 but they won't be as bad as furia this year.

Not true necessarily. They have dumpstered top tier 1 teams in scrims, and while you might say that scrims don't really mean anything, it does give us good indication that they can indeed compete against franchised teams.
And it's not like they won't have time to adapt and gain experience to bridge the gap + more coaching stuff.
In the latest platchat episode Bonkar (world champion coach btw) said that when Envy are playing at their ceiling, they would place as a top americas team easily.

Not exactly, FURIA didn’t win a single official match all year, but they were competitive in scrims and even beat G2.
MIBR, on the other hand, got stomped by Liquid in their pre-Champions scrims, and yet Liquid didn’t even make it past groups while MIBR finished top 6.

Besides needing to figure out how to adapt and refine their playstyle, they’ll also have to play with two subs. That team’s most likely gonna get crushed if they get promoted.

I just checked vct scrims and they weren't doing well at all, the only teams they were positive against was versus other brazilian teams (Loud, 2G) and 100 Thieves, which were all terrible during almost all of this year. I couldn't find that scrim you said in which they beat G2 (Only one in which the score was something like FUR 4-13 G2) maybe you have other sources.

MIBR, on the other hand, got stomped by Liquid in their pre-Champions scrims, and yet Liquid didn’t even make it past groups while MIBR finished top 6.

MIBR also didn't even make it out of group in Americas, not fair to say it's a scrim thing. They just leveled up at champions. And Liquid lost to DRX 2 times, the team the made it to third place in champs.
I agree that they will struggle without Ion and Cane, but that wasn't in your original post.

They wouldn't beat the G2s of the world that we can agree on, but I think you're vastly overestimating the state of Americas right now. Other than the few clearly top teams it was slim pickins last year and I could see any of the bottom say 8 teams getting overwhelmed when their setups get tested, especially with all the roster moves because half of the teams are going back to square one and will be relying alot more on the individuals early in the year while they build up their team identity.
The playstyle won't be the bottleneck next year, it'll be losing the two best players (TSM is obviously gonna be more competative than a team with 2 subs).

bonkar seemed to think they're the best team in ascension and have potential to be one of the best in americas on platchat today, I'll take his word over yours here

Do whatever you want, they’re gonna lose to TSM anyway

Just say you're a TSM fan instead of going on this whole spiel of "their playstyle wouldn't work in tier 1" to justify TSM in franchising.
