What’s yall top 5 best players of all time? Best is purely skill, irrespective of trophies (do need to perform against good teams tho).

Sacy said it himself. reykjavik is essentially plumbers and electricians tournament where really nobody knew how to play the game. TenZ pretty much just aim diffed the competition. If I throw prime TenZ in todays game, he wouldn't have drop those numbers today. His performance that tournament will forever be known as the 1962 Wilt Chamberlin of valorant
Fair enough, but a similar argument could be made for prime yay in the chamber meta, where he was only good because of the era in which he played. I feel like in a conversation like this, you just have to decide whether you consider how the players would fare in the modern era vs their skill level for their time. Either way, there's an argument to be made.
Tyty, the third tier is people you can make an argument for, depending on what you value.
Like if u value crazy high peaks, KK could be in there.
If you value consistency, you can put chron or leaf.
If you value history and aren't as concerned with current form, Less is a good option. This argument is also the support behind Leo, who is undoubtedly one of the most skilled players of all time, but he hasn't played since the beginning of 2024.
And if you don't mind a player who hasn't been around quite as long, and you really value their current form, then Zekken has a great argument (KK also would fit in this category technically, both only being on "T1" teams since the partnership era, but you wouldn't think of him that way).
My issue is I don’t think KK is anywhere near the others purely skill wise
Impact and accomplishments wise he clears a lot of people, but I’d argue a peak of one tournament is short, a peak of a match is so short it’s hard to even call it a peak.
I think for sure Zekken will be here after next year (or champs if sen get there shit together for international events)
If this were a greatest of all time list, they wouldn't be in the same tier at all, but in terms of skill, I think they can be considered at a similar level for sure. In terms of pure skill, I don't think it's crazy to have Zekken above Chronicle and maybe even Less, depending on your personal criteria, and Leaf is similar to, if maybe a step behind, Chronicle in my eyes in the fact that he has consistently been one of the top players in his region, even if he hasn't always been the best. If u look at my other reply, I go through my thought process, and I think it makes sense to have them in the same tier here.
Again, both Less and Chron are above them in a greatest of all time conversation, but that's not what we're talking about here.
Chronicle has never even had a team as bad as guild (unless you count m3c and Leo was still better that year in 22). My argument is the only time they have similar environments (vs similar opponents, same strength team) Leo was WAY better. Chron was fnc’s 4th best player in 23 and 3rd best in 24.
I’m also 90% sure chron and Alfa have both said Leo was better than either of them.
Guild were t1 in 2021 brah they nearly made champs, and a peak of 1 year and a half is hella impressive
I think it’s impressive cause Leo essentially had a peak the entire time he had a competent team around him, while chronicle had slumps (that was covered up by his super team)
If that doesn’t show consistency and peak idk what to say
