83 minutes of just talking about tenz holy. no other pro has this kind of treatment.

didn’t watch the video but man that’s more dedication or obsession than tenz fans. anyone know if it was fair constructive criticism?

Yea it was a good analysis
Covers both positives and negatives (though more time is spent on the negative, but thats just where his analysis lead him)

Cant really comment on if its constructive, since it more points out stuff rather than suggesting fixes (vlr tenz fanboys/haters should def watch it for the extra ammo)

His general points were good and fair but when he went onto nitpicking things to prove that tenz has bad game sense or decision making, he made some pretty bad analysis. For example, the split haven jett knives clip where tenz gets the first kill and then he expects tenz to wait, marved put a star in the most random place ever and then peek that corner for second kill. That's just stupid, you never have enough time or resources for that. Another was when he said tenz didn't smoke the bomb( tenz actually did) and he said tenz does this often (which isn't true) and he showed only one clip for it and he still got it wrong. There were quite a lot of instances where he was just saying and showing things to prove a point and if you want to do that you could do that with anybody.

In this clip tenz could've just waited for saxy and swung together just like he mentioned

That's open space, opponent could have done the same. They could've reacted faster and take the fight before SEN. TenZ just whiffed, that's on him but he had to take that fight cz he had the upper hand with updraft jett knive movements. Sacy should have traded that regardless, he didn't scale that's his fault

I kinda disagree, 20 mins in and it feels very nitpicky and speculatory already. It kinda feels like he thinks he knows what TenZ thought process is without having access to comms.

he better be nitpicking every other pro like sacy, pancada, asuna etc etc

not only tenz bc that’s fucked

dont like to say it but zekken ruined a valuable year of his talent on SEN
imagine he played on NRG instead of ardiis, that team mightve gone crazy

Bro, why does everyone hate the fact that TenZ is a t1 pro. Like, people are always trying to find a reason why he isn't up to par. Like let it go smh, he's a really good player and tbh he really isn't that much of a problem lol.

It's not just that but like, since the start of 2022 TenZ hasn't really played on a stable team, and he's had to deal with a lot outside of the game. It finally does seem like Sentinels is committed to actually winning and building a good roster with the addition of johnqt, and it gives a chance for TenZ to actually grow into his new role as a flex, properly. Obviously, he's not the most polished pro, but I feel like so much of his criticism is very nitpicky.

TenZ is not consistent and it just means he's not the best player like he was in 2021 and PPL just can't digest it 🤷 this starts a cycle of hate and love

I am watching some of it, but a whole hour and 20 mins is crazy for a player who hasn't played on a stable team since 2021.

but watching the video you see that most of the problems it's not the teams fault, it's not like everyone was trolling, sentinels year was not entirely his fault but if we want to be better next year we can't just rely on "okay now we have johnqt everything is fixed" like, sideshow talked about how tenz can be better next year, mainly learning how to play skye, breach, viper, and getting his kayo better, + don't trying to be a hero and overheating most of the chances he gets

A lot of it does come down to the fact that he is allowed more excuses because of his brand and the team. He doesn't exactly go under the radar because its tenz but when they're struggling someone else always gets blamed. Apart from a really good showing at the end of the last two years he spent a lot of time being just mediocre for SEN the last two seasons.

He was never a top pro or coach

I don't think we should discount his analytical view just because he wasn't a pro or coach. People can understand the tactics and decision making even if they can't perform it themselves.

You do realize 99% of the desk talent has no pro experience right?

Not counting guest members like valyn, only one with experience in cs or Val is sean

Having a mind for the game and being able to coherently speak about it doesn’t always come from pros who have mechanical skill. Lots of coaches and analysts from sports never made it pro because they physically could not exert what they are trying to do. Tons of pros are actually pretty incoherent and can’t speak about the game they play, they just shoot straight lol. Sideshow is far from the worst imo (also this video will have insane engagement. It’s mostly bait for clicks on his personal channel)

#34
BadlandsChugs

yeah that's pretty much my point, it's useless to say "oh hey this guy never played or coached this game at a high level" when everybody else also never did. Basically saying that the entirety of the desk is useless, which it very much isn't

He gave TenZ props for his incredible aim and flash timings on KAYO.

Said his best map is Bind on duelist, but he’s incredibly mid on Ascent, which is supposed to be a strong Jett map.

He gave credit where credit was due but the entire thing was essentially a criticism on things TenZ needs to work on

90 minutes of critiquing TenZ, gives me DaZed on Shahzam vibes 😂

Idk if anything a video like that just shows how important tenz is as a player not only to sentinels, but to valorant as a whole. I don’t think anyone wants to genuinely see him fail, people just want tenz to dominate and with that kind of stature, he can be a lightning rod at times. It’s no different than people heavily dissecting the play of any top performer in any game or sport. I think everyone wants TenZ to dominate next year. It’s a good video

I feel like the video was a way to show that TenZ gets bailed out by his aim a lot. He makes a lot of bad decisions that can be fixed pretty easily and lead him to be a much, much better player. If TenZ can fix his over aggression when it isn't needed and his passiveness when he is needed he would be a different beast. His playstyle probably stems from the want to carry his team/feeling like he needs to carry his team like he did back on old Sentinels but obviously that isn't needed anymore with a team full of world class players. Obviously TenZ was not the main problem for Sentinels last year with pretty much all of the players except zekken having a rough year but it didn't help when it sometimes felt like a 4v5 on retake or a 4v5 site hit because he just sprinted at them.
