Teams that won international LANs :
Sentinels (Masters Reykjavik)
Gambit (Masters Berlin)
Acend (Champions 2021)
Optic (Masters Berlin)
FPX (Masters Copenhagen)
Loud (Champions 2022)
Fnatic (Lock//In)
Fnatic (Masters Tokyo)
EG (Champions 2023)
If we look at the number of CIS players in each of these :
Sen : 0
Gambit : 5 (Entire core)
Acend : 1 (Kiles, part Ukrainian)
Optic : 0
FPX : 3 (except Keith and Zyppan)
Loud : 0
Fnatic : (Chronicle and Derke partly Russian)
EG : 1 (Demon1)
10/40 are CIS based.
I think if we make a detailed Analysis with say points and every pro gets 10 if they're in the finals and lose one for a lower placing, we can get a statistical analysis of every region wrt pros.
Edit : everyone telling demon1 is not a Russian, why do you think he faced visa issued for Tokyo? He migrated when he was 10 y/o. He currently does reside in America but is a Russian. He once said it in his stream as well.

Yeah I think fair. He did say he migrated at 10
So might have American citizenship. Just that he's a Russian blood and has that CIS genes

If he migrated at 10 he most likely does have both nationalities

I dont know how it is accepted to divide europe in your country, but "cis genes" sounds sooo weird to me

I hardly doubt that he used CIS as a political term, basically CIS is used for former soviet republics

"CIS" in esports it's a short way to say "Russian-speaking Esports region"

it will be changed in years, when Ukrainian players stop to speak Russian and stop creating teams with other Russian speaking players from Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc

demon1 had visa issues because he wasn't on the starting roster originally, the visa preparations begin much earlier than the event
