no, yay had a better team, Kangkang literally had to carry in tokyo which boosted his stats, but Optic yay will never be replicated stat wise lmao

which optic yay stat will never be replicated?

I didn’t mean like “ stat “ but like being so dominant and being the best player the whole year no argument will never be replicated again, i’m p sure his firstbloods acs were all insane during the tournament they had won

yeah he definetly was the best player that year by a margin, but i still think kangkang is mechanically more skilled and has more potential than yay, with the op at least

For starters, I personally, wouldn't mind a player other than YAY or nAts ... achieve a DIFF of +31 kills or more in an international series final, whether it's the Lower/Upper or Grand Final.

As of now, only nAts and Yay have managed to hit that milestone:

  +--------------------------------------------------------||------------------------+
  | TEAM    PLAYER  W/L    VS.       KILLS  DIFF KMAX RND  || BEST-MAP  ACS/BEST-MAP |
  +--------------------------------------------------------||------------------------+
  | GAMBIT  nAts     L   vs. ACEND     93    +31  29  107  ||  Fracture     394      |
  | OPTIC   Yay      W   vs. DRX       91    +31  23  102  ||  Haven        282      |
  +--------------------------------------------------------||------------------------+

And of course, it's not the only record from Yay....

EDIT ----> Thanks to @4ch1p4p4, the statement is corrected in reply #48 ---> The record of +31 has been reached by nAts, Yay, and Demon1 - however, it is yet to be surpassed.

Not much, really... just copied it from here: https://www.vlr.gg/post/2795127/most-kills-in-one-series-on-international-level

Also, ask yourself: Why isn't there much discussion about the highest Operator kills in a single international S-Tier tournaments when it comes to one's Operator capability? ... or maybe Marshall capability if assessing snipers ...?

That's right, this is because a record of 127 OP kills - in a single S-Tier tournament --> and which still stands to this day was set by no other than YAY himself 😉

Oh, and it was also YAY who set a record of 29 Marshall kills in a single international S-Tier tournament, during the tournament where he also was the TOP 1 in OP kills. Remarkably, 4 times Yay secured the top 1 spot for OP kills in total --> and even more....

Sorry for getting a bit too deep ... It's just very popular to have short memory these days... the good thing, though, there's always someone who isn't affected by that shortcoming <3

Aye, plus some Breeze action - some of the CRACKED games, and innovative as MUCH too - simply nAts at his BEST!

Just to refresh some memories, I'll link this too: https://www.vlr.gg/34979/envy-vs-gambit-esports-valorant-champions-tour-stage-3-masters-berlin-gf

P.S. I swear, short memory syndrome is booming these days.

Much appreciated for the correction <3

Name    RND  R   ACS  K  D  A   +/– KAST ADR  HS%  FK  FD  +/–
nAts    117 1.32 245  93 62 31  +31 71%  160  31%  11   4   +7
Yay     102 1.23 245  91 60  7  +31 71%  157  28%  21  10  +11
demon1  88  1.31 230  79 48 17  +31 75%  163  41%  12   6   +6

Now, it's time for ZmjjKK to overtake the summit of +31 <-- preferably further 31+

P.S. Ngl, I've not updated this table https://www.vlr.gg/267040/most-kills-in-one-series-on-international-level/#24 since the lower-finals. However, it needed to be corrected! 🍻

kangkang had to find opportunities for his kills

It also works the other way cuz since he had a good support he was set up for so much which boosted his kills

what part of "carrying" means your stats get boosted, that is an awful argument 💀

if anything your stats would go down if your team is trash, it means more shitty buys, lack of util from cash or bad coordination, more 1vX situations, bad trading and enemies that aren't lit up you literally just proved your own case wrong

#35

obv your a edg fan so youre going to be biased, and what not. By carrying I mean his stats are basically being fed while not winning shit. Blud is Dropping 25+ a game and losing hes litearlly carrying that shitty ass team.

Its basically Lebron James playing for Team China in the olympics. Hes very well gifted and talented but his team his shit and his stats shouldnt mean anything because hes playing a 1v9 everygame and playing on one of the worst teams at every event. Does that help with your small brain edg fan?

#53

Frags

and you're from NA so you're biased to yay and the Optic core GTFO with that hypocrisy

basketball is absolutely nothing like valorant, maybe if you compared it to something that relied more on team synergy like volleyball or soccer you would have a point. The ability a player has to carry a game in basketball is infinitely more than that of valorant because of the opportunities you have 1v1 to win opportunities for your team.

Does that help your small brain NA fan?

lmao u r actually clueless, its very possibly to carry a val game, its a reason edg couldnt do anything at champs because they finally read how to play kangkang and he couldnt go off like he did at tokyo, They had 0 Film on EDG so Kangkang farmed 1v1 Opportunitys and AWP crutched his way.

He will never be dominate as yay and will never come close to carrying like Yay did in 2022. Just hush and watch ur dogshit region in poverty

You bronze hardstuck shitter.

wow you are really that dumb huh

the whole argument you had was about "stats" to begin with, and whether it was easier to get them on good vs bad teams, don't forget that- KK's production was still massive in Champs, and they literally finished off in the same position as they did in Tokyo LOL

I think it's also funny that your boy yay is literally a contradiction to your whole argument, y'all really tried to forget quickly how badly he shat the bed consistently against far worse competition on a crappy team like DSG

my region may be shit but I think that's more because of the fact that our kids spend more time in school instead of grinding valorant so they wouldn't be as dumb as you fucks when they grow up, I'll watch my team make it back to international LANs as yours fucking creates content for Tik Tok again

You bronze hardstuck shitter.

kangkang has a bit better op-ing skills but yay's rifling is way better, headhunter is kinda busted so im personally ignoring that when comparing them

yeah it was busted, but it wasnt an aimbot gun? you still needed to be extremely skilled to use it, look im exaggarating it but NO other chamber was tapping people like yay. Just look at his ace against XSET, Guard etc

#39
GhostKing44

Frags

what i meant is that yes headhunter needs a lot of skill but kangkang isnt exactly using that rn, he's still more jett raze focus so we dont have nearly as much of a sample size of his headhunters as opposed to yay's (e.g. yay, Yay, YAY, YAYYYYYYYYYYY moment) which makes direct comparison harder than rifling and op.

But that’s not his point? Kk barely makes the threshold to be on this list and hasn’t made any deep runs so far(still made good runs) vs yay who has a much sampler size and has made deep runs so of course he has played against better teams more often

#54
eeveeceo
0
Frags

what I'm saying is that even if you don't go deeper into tournaments, since the level of competition has increased overall its still comparable difficulties when it comes to teams both KK and yay have faced imo

they've gone up against Navi, LOUD, EG, PRX, Liquid over the course of like two international LANs, which are basically the cores of some of the top teams of 2022 which yay had to contend with as well

Alright, since you mentioned (Kangkang>yay), from the get go, I will say that such inequality is not correct but the following --> YAY >> ZmjjKK is the correct one.

TEAM NAME RND R ACS ADR KPR FKPR FDPR KD HS CL
NV/OPTC  yay     1757   1.21  255.2  162.1  0.90    0.19    0.12    1.34    25%   18%
EDG      ZmjjKK   877   1.05  246.7  152.4  0.86    0.21    0.14    1.17    21%   15%
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE       DIFF    xxx   0.16   8.55   9.64  0.04   -0.016  -0.025   0.177   3.9%  3.7%

I deliberately examined the data on a PER ROUND basis, not any other statistic. This indicates that YAY has a more significant impact per round than ZmjjKK, as evident from the table provided.

The total number of rounds is not a primary concern since we are focusing on averages. If anything, YAY's position might be even more unfavourable since he played more rounds, making it more challenging to maintain such high averages. Nonetheless, ZmjjKK's 877 rounds seem adequate for this comparison.

Additionally, YAY's KILL PER ROUND (KPR) of 0.9 ranks him as TOP 1 globally in international tournaments. This implies that, on average, YAY outperforms every other professional Valorant player in international S-tier events when it comes to kills per round.

Regarding the provided link, measuring kills by per MAP is deceptive, as maps can be played for an undefined duration unless rules dictate otherwise, meaning there's no fixed TIME for a map to conclude. As such, KPR stands out as a far more credible statistic for KILLS, given that it's calculated per ROUND, which operates within a time constraint. Furthermore, without specific context, we don't know which map was being discussed. Different maps have varied gameplay dynamics. Hence, comparing one player's performance on Bind to another's on Split isn't accurate or fair. Using a per MAP measurement is already flawed, and such an approach will undoubtedly lead to biased outcomes!"

Hope I helped to clear out the BIAS 😉

I mean, kangkang had like one good tournament and one not as good but somewhat decent Champions performance while yay pretty much had the whole year of 2022 being consistently good (I should consider it 2 years since 2021 yay was also a demon). You could argue about how yay's team helped him set up for kills but so did most of the teams on perma-Chamber, but did anyone came close to how yay played as chamber? No.
