You ever realize how hard you took it for granted when you spend time with your older siblings? I remember when my older sister and I used to play Wii games together and go on bike rides. Once she went to university, she changed (for the better.) University normally reshapes people so perhaps I shoulda expected it. Def sucks now tho that the sister I knew is gone, and so are the times that we spent together when I was younger.

Guard winning tmmrw btw

As long as she’s alive, cherish the memories you had w her and make more.

I’m an only child so I wouldn’t know.

It's unfortunate how the past memories can cloud what good memories we can make now. Just think, now (I assume) you and your sister are old enough to have genuine conversations, to become actual friends instead of just a brother and a sister. Independence does change people and make them grow, and you will probably go through that as well. It's just important to realize that a) those memories are mystified of simpler times and b) she probably feels similar about those times. Don't think you took those time for granted, you didn't have the mental complex to appreciate those times. Now that you do, make the effort to have a genuine connection with your sister as mature individuals.

You can't go back to being a bunch of kids playing in the grass, but you can reminisce alongside her and build new memories as new people. I genuinely put time, effort, and thought into this.

Qualifications: 18 year old done first year uni with a high school brother. I have thought these things before hand just randomly.

You’re right and I appreciate you writing all that out. It’s not right for me to expect someone to stay the same forever- and instead of reminiscing on the past, I should try and find new ways to spend time together. Thank you for your comment, fr

Can kinda relate. My older sis(7 yr gap btw) was my best friend when I was a kid. She's my best friend even now. She got a job in a different city and had to move later and I was worried we would grow apart. But if anything we became even closer. If ur bond is strong, merely not being in the same place anymore wouldn't break it or weaken it
