genuine question - What even is it?
Someone different underperforms every game.
Sometimes dapr, sometimes wippie, sometimes shahz, and every once in a while, penny
Dapr seems to have the lowest lows, but he has had a few matches where hes towards the top of the board
And when one of these guys performs, the other ones don't
the only consistently great player is OXY
Is it strategies? As much as we hate on Shahz, he really isnt that bad - mechanically or in terms of IGLing ability. Give him a secondary caller for a little help and he's certainly good enough to IGL for ascension
Coaching?? is it coaching??

They were playing SUPER SUPER well in Split 1.
then they just fell off the face of the earth in split 2

my guess? they became predictable, and then once they were 0-3 ish in split 2 they also started tilting out

oxy is inconsistent but gets huge streaks of pop offs to cover it up, wippie and dapr bot out so often, and penny cant play initiator
also they cant win a pistol

oh - i mean, i would have expected them to lose to guard anyway but they just fumbled so unbelievably hard every other match
even ones they could have one
i guess we cant really know for sure whats happening

Idk, i think theyre all good, just way too inconsistent. They have good games but never consistently and never at the same time.
The first one id replace is Penny - not because he is bad, the opposite actually, he is great - but simply because Penny isnt an initiator. There are better initiators out there, so its weird to me that they got a duelist and put him on init.

I feel like wippie and dapr are terrible mechanically and Penny and oxy are very inconsistent.

Ironically, I feel like Shahz is the only one I can count on to play decent every game

This is one of the few games I’ve seen in VALORANT that feels like a mechanics diff

Fair. wippie and dapr have certainly been playing badly lately. Maybe i'm just biased because I remember how good they used to be.
But it could totally be a slump (which i hope it is, man, i love dapr as a personality so it would be cool to keep him in the scene)
The two can def be upgraded but if they play well like i know they have the capability to, there arent really that many possible upgrades.

But maybe its just wishful thinking and they are just bad now rather than in a slump.

Not G2 fan but Guard is playing shit aswell, its just G2 making mistakes which is letting guard win rounds. SMH battle of mids

Let me give you my take, g2 is mostly 2 players playing for a very long time since split 2. Like 2 or more players are consistently underperforming. God knows why, fapr is washed as fuck.
can't even blame shahzam.

Consistently mid maybe, but not THAT bad. Def not as big of an underperformance as wippie and dapr
Idk about his util i havent paid attention to that
but his aim is good enough.
he just simply isnt a Initiator, and idk why they got him over a F/A initiator player

His util is awful but the main point here is that he does NOT have a good enough aim

check his stats for this past month and you’ll see that apart from the one match in which he played Jett he’s been dropping single digits in most maps

They have two Jett players in a meta that only has one viable double duelist map, and Penny has failed to learn the flex role in time(IMO he's by far the worst flex of the playoff teams.) Dapr can't play KJ even though it's 2023, Shaz is a good not great IGL and they don't enable Oxy at all since the MSFO.
