Cloud9

So after the last Valorant content video from Cloud9, I have lost all faith that this is a championship contending roster.

It seems like the energy is more “do our best” than “be the best”, which is fine for most, but they signed the currently almost universally accepted best player in the world (not here to discuss yay specifically cope harder)

If they are not going into São Paulo with intentions of winning, what was the point of breaking up the Optic roster? Would have rather seen yay on a younger roster with less experience and everything to prove than a group of mid tier T1 players that are just happy to be there

Thoughts?

Im pretty sure yay was the one that wanted to join this team of shit players, obviously he could join any other team but he thought this was a good Idea 💀

i always thought yay was trying to be the best in the world as he has said many times before and based on his mindset, could be that there werent many teams to choose from in the first place or he just wanted to play with specific people on c9. they have potential but from previous results so far and scrims (obviously are not a huge factor) it seems that they wont be at the top, probably not even close. hoping that mce and vanity are able to pull the squad together in time for brazil and that yay is able to perform the same or better than he did on optic with fns and chet.

common babysasuke W
rare seeing a reasonable post from you though. i like it
but cloud9 was THE MOST hyped team itw and had one of the most powerful rosters.
there is no reason for them to keep that mentality. after losing to 100t this is only going to make them worse.
they have a lot of potential of they do it right so the least they can do is keep a good mental going into the biggest tournament yet.

I’m talking more teamwise

It seems like specifically mCe and Zellsis are not in “best in the world” mindset

And I don’t think the rest of the pieces at their last known state are innately talented enough to make up for that

thats very true but i feel like that also may be an org issue not yay’s. only 4 rosters to choose from considering NRG didn’t have enough $$ for all of OpTic. 100T wanted cryo, so his options were SEN, EG, and C9. i doubt SEN were planning on dropping tenz, plus they needed an igl (dephh) and basically picked up many other members of SEN including staff and zekken. EG or C9 honestly is a no-brainer considering C9 had experience and team members who played internationally compared to EG who was relatively newer (they also kept boostio as awp/igl). i do believe that there was better options for a dedicated sova type initiator than zellsis but since zellsis had a pretty good lcq run, he was a contender. mce also did great with the guard as a coach and just fell a bit short in lcq. you’re right in the sense that there were better options but things happen and its what c9 are stuck with. theyve just got to work with what they have.

Honestly their core is just not strong enough, they struggled on NA, literally has 3 duelists on their roster (ofc new agents will be learned but don't expect to play like someone that has been playing the agent for years now), adding yay and zellsis made the team more likable but yeah, very overrated rn

Not to mention leaf cheated on CS, but yall aren't ready for this conversation

Sykko said they only kept Tenz because al the better options were taken(Yay and cryo) and no EMEA player wanted to come over

Obv Sykko is gonna be very happy that yay and cryo were taken when TenZ shots on the world

Calling it now cloud 9 roster is a team fill with superstar players but will do subpar at best. I feel like for the winning formula u need team chemistry synergy and skills all mashed together.

They should have plenty of chemistry. Zellsis has been friends with the Chaos 4 for years. mCE coached Leaf, Vanity, and Xeppaa to impressive success in NA CSGO

The only slight question mark is Yay and obviously has the individual skill to make up for that.

There are some role issues but everybody on the team is highly adaptable and willing to learn

Probably NRG but as long as EU gets rocked by APAC and Americas I’ll be happy

Only good thing about FaZe being in T2 and Optic disbanding is I’m just along for the ride 👍
