The issue with harbor

His kit revolves around executing and retakes very well however it has no defensive stopping or site-holding power. All of his kits are extremely reactionary ie throw orb/wall on contact but the opponents will be on site by then. Other controllers have some sort of stopping power like a molly, suck, or paranoia to stop site hits. I can't see him finding a place in the meta right now without buff or changes. Interesting and cool agent but riot fumbled with the agent idea.

It slows people down like his other walls, but you can basically put it at an entrance of a site and slow anyone down who enters it or you could push with it

Yeah I saw some clips of it, ans yeah it's kinda a weak slow, it's dumb that it less effective than sage or chamber's slow (I mean it probably should be as strong but should have a bigger effect than it has now).

I get what you’re saying. I think I like this however because it would force teams that use harbor that attack and hold sites differently. This would bring more strategy to ranked games and not just running it down with 5 players. From what I see, there is huge potential in his abilities to take sites with ease. Mostly interested to see how pros use him since he could be in the kickoff tournament.

he has potential but the opportunity cost of choosing him over another agent is way too much imo. I would rather have another initiator or dueslist.

Definitely. Especially since nobody really knows how to play him now. But in the future, I think he can be a solid niche pick on some maps. Definitely not as much as an all-rounder like chamber though.

i see what youre saying w the retake part of his kit being way stronger than the site hold, but respectfully, you have no idea how he will play yet, its kind of ridiculous to make predictions about him being weak/strong when he hasnt even been released. (also, a wave that slows anyone caught in it is a pretty good piece of site holding util, no? not even mentioning his ult)

ngl i am dissapointed. All his abilities seem deliberately weakened. But the good thing is he can be made stronger with minor changes. even his ult is weak i saw a clip where neon literally just sprinted through his ult without getting stunned once.

Honestly feels like he is designed to be a secondary controller, like how you see Astra + Viper some maps. Definitely doesn't have the defensive power of either of those, but I'm optimistic that there is a place for Harbor. The last controller they added defined the meta for a long time, so I'm not too surprised to see this one have more of a focused impact instead of a map wide push stopper like astra was

Yeah I think there’s a much higher chance that he replaces an initiator or duelist than a traditional controller. Omen + Harbor or Astra + Harbor on Ascent/Haven seems possible in ways that Viper never was.

I genuinely agree Harbour's abilities heavily revolve around Defaults Executions and Retakes. Nothing in his kit basically helps anchoring a site as opposed to the mollies suck stuns and paranoia that other controllers have. But still I see him being picked as a secondary controller in some maps like Ascent Haven maybe Icebox Breeze idk. But yeah am still not sure bout cooldowns but I see a future for him in some teams comps in pro play. But I don't think he would be good in ranked unless it's played in the higher echelon

When neon came out everyone questioned how she would be since her kit wasn't much but we saw all the things people can do with neon. So before harbor is applied in the game and experimented on, lets not jump to conclusions.

No? All she had was a wall, slide and stuns which people said were not really good for a duelist since there was no stun or cover and that she was a run and gun agent and her ult was questioned a lot, a lot of people said she won't be good in pro play but now she is a must pick on some maps and helps to waste a lot of util.

That's the thing, we didn't play the agent so we conclude things. We know neon didn't turn the game into apex at all. Even scream said harbor has so many opportunities to create plays he will change the game.

Imo:

  • Big wave: Very good ability to enable your team to retake and take sites because it blocks some angles for you. Very useful against operators because you can shorten the gap easily.

  • Wall smoke: Decent, nothing special about it, I've seen people make circles with it, which is kinda funny ngl

  • Bulletproof smoke: Very good in pistols, but lacks the power against rifles, it can be broken in less than 2 seconds, negating the smoke and making 350 credit go down the drain.

  • Ult: Actually very good, it makes people move and spots them for you
