It’s not random chance though, every situation has been 100% preventable

Pretty sure if talon beats RRQ then all 4 APAC teams would be favored against TL

How can anyone think this team can go deep at Champs

I need a hard drink after watching that

IMO BBL have been playing better than TL recently

I think it's fair, it rewards being better throughout the year than only in stage 2. For example, what if you were on track to qualify but had one of your key players get sick in stage 2 (like Leaf)? Then, despite you being great earlier in the year, you could miss champs purely by being unlucky.

I appreciate your post. The conversation around him online has always been really weird, as if to portray S1mon as a victim or something. He was an excellent player for EDG, and he undoubtedly played a crucial role in their Champs 2024 victory. He also had issues with communicating with the team and dealing with adversity. From a non-insider perspective, it doesn't seem like he was mistreated in any way, however we don't know what goes on in the building there. EDG did not do him dirty by moving off of him, as they gave him the opportunity in the first place.

Regardless, I am thankful for his contributions to the team and helping to give EDG fans something to celebrate. I am sure he'll do very well in T2, he is too talented to stay there for too long. I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in T1 in 2026.

Yeah I agree, GenG showed in Toronto that they were good enough to beat anybody, then threw up all over themselves. G2’s choke in Bangkok was pretty bad, so if they choke in Champs then 100% they could overtake GenG.

To G2’s credit though, they haven’t choked domestically at all and didn’t choke in Toronto, just lost to teams playing better at the time.

We have a bay called the Assawoman bay

Oh yeah it was a great payday for them, I just meant in the context of how we view tournaments in terms of legacy for the players

IMO what GenG did in Toronto and against RRQ was far more diabolical

2025 GenG has to be it for me. 2024 TH didn’t choke that much, I thought that GenG and EDG were just the better team in the finals.

2025 GenG tried to invent new ways to lose. They choked away 3 huge leads in Toronto alone, came back domestically, and choked away even more leads, including a 10-2 playoff lead that ultimately got them eliminated from champs.

I think M8s this year in EMEA deserve a dishonorable mention too

Not important enough

Personally I’d weight Champs and Masters as very close to the same. But also, I think Jawg being 2nd best on those EG teams is actually arguable, he wasn’t statistically great at either Masters Tokyo or Champs 23, just solid. Same can be said for Bangkok, he was 4th best on his team in rating. Trent and Leaf have been better.

My point is, he’s never been close to being the best player at any tournament he’s played in, not even on his own team. He’s just a good player who’s been on great rosters

posted 3 weeks ago

Ah that makes a big difference, then he probably would be around 5th

posted 3 weeks ago

I don’t think so. He was never viewed as the best player on his team in any of his 3 grand finals appearances, nor was he close to being the best at the tournament

the usual VLR experience

okay whatever you say

posted 3 weeks ago

still won :D

posted 3 weeks ago

All I pointed out was that no one wants to keep him on their roster since EG broke up

posted 3 weeks ago

so? still won champs next year

yessir

posted 3 weeks ago

I don’t get why people are so infatuated with him. He was great in 2023, and then no one has wanted to keep him. Maybe it’s also stuff outside of the server that’s causing him problems staying in a starting roster

Still won 2 trophies beforehand….

FNC flair shouldn’t be cocky right now

We have no idea if Leo can still be good… if he can be, a roster of Alfa, Kaajak, Leo, Chron, and Larok would be nuts

Still got a few days to let the hate accumulate

posted 3 weeks ago

Nah best team ever was the back-to-back FNC team

posted 3 weeks ago

It’s really hard to tell. I’m optimistically expecting like 5th-6th range, but no idea. I think they have a lot of potential going into champs for a few reasons:

  • KK has time and commitment to practice Yoru
  • First down period with Jieni7 as guaranteed starter, so they can do way more prep with him
  • Jieni7 looked more confident and team played better in playoffs
  • Map rotation change benefits them
  • They can beat almost anyone on Corrode
  • KK seems to always play better at Champs
  • When on an “on” day, they are better than most other teams mechanically

I don’t think they’ll be good enough to make a deep run just yet, but I also think they’ll be dangerous if underestimated

Zekken has been pretty consistent. Meteor hasn’t been as good for as long as others but from early 2024 onwards he’s been consistently really good to excellent

Everyone still crying that bum can't stay on a T1 roster lmao

Sounds like you got some stuff to work through man

posted 3 weeks ago

I don't think FNC choked in Toronto though, PRX just played better and had map veto advantage. It happens

Kinda sounds like 1 team always wins when it matters

Just finished my Masters, I highly recommend looking into if you can do an online Masters. It gave me time to work full time and do classes at night.

Basically I scheduled my classes to be early in the day, then after lunch I’d spend the afternoon and/or evening in the library. I didn’t rush through my assignments but prioritized finishing them during the week.

Try to avoid procrastinating as much as possible. Getting my homework and projects done early allowed me to be far less stressed than my friends, and I never had to pull an all-nighter. It also gives you way more free time on the weekend.

You forgot PRX Something. He’s been playing incredibly well this split. He’s putting up a great performance basically every single match
