Because tier 2 is the base and structure of their most profitable scene of franchising? You can say the same thing about tier 1 lol, why are they spending this much money on GC when they could be spending it on tier 1 which gets way more viewers and brings in much more profit than GC does…

I mean I kind of disagree with this statement, there's nothing you can really say that justifies GC having a prize pool that matches a master's prize pool. Also the fact that they can afford these big venues and has amazing production for GC while they make excuses about not having enough funds for tier 2 is just crazy imo.
Lowk #19 has a good take about what should happen with the system, gives teams an actual incentive to competing and getting better. But also riot has already kind of tried this and it hasn't worked out (SRG going into tier 2) which can be for a number of reasons but imo the main reason is that they js don't care enough about tier 2 and can get paid better in GC (they aren't trying to get better so the skill gap is massive).

If a scene had a crazy amount of viewers for one game but terrible viewership for the rest of the games are you really doing to say that it's a better scene than one that has the same peak viewership but better views on other games? braindead take after braindead take lmfao. Yes and GCC is an international event with every single region involved, if you want to take that statistic then you need to consider every region's ascension lmfao which peak viewers adds up to around the same amount. If you want to be a dumbass and not look at an official website for average viewers I will do it for you.
GCC averaged 124k viewers while ascension averaged over 150k+ viewers and that's being generous since we aren't even counting China's viewership either lmao.

This is a crazy statement as GCC in 2024 has basically the same peak viewership as all of the ascensions and has less average viewers as them (btw this was the same year where we had like 9 hour tech pauses too in EMEA and Americas).

Has way too much funding for something that's supposed to be a space that non male players can build up their skills to bring them to tier 2/tier 1. Right now the salaries and prize pools of Game Changers is higher than some regions in tier 2 which is crazy because this isn't encouraging anyone to join tier 2/tier 1, it just keeps them in a bubble that people have no incentive to move out of.
Additionally, no shot GCC can drop a band and get one of the most popular K-Pop groups to make a song solely for it while tier 2 is still struggling with venue and production problems...
Relocate a lot of the GC funds to tier 2, GC is supposed to be a place where non male players can build up skills for tier 2/tier 1 and not chill for their entire career.

Does anyone think that the old version of him was better than the new version? The cove buff is 100% better but like cascade was good because you could push up behind it to get space and the ult was good since it stunned and gave info on locations, now we don't have that. And without the regenerating wall it's kind of cooked since you only have one traditional smoke so you either waste your wall and the smoke or you go double controller.
Also in the argument with viper, both of them have different identities but viper is still arguably better as a secondary controller so it won't increase his play rate either unless it's more of a comfort pick.
