They have to prove themselves in t2 first

vania can be tier 1 off talent alone but its hard to convince a team to take a chance on a gc player who never played vcl. and she wont play vcl unless she can find teammates good enough to take her to vcl while continuing to play gc
This is just cope. Ya see, the 2x almost 3x gc champs SRG played in t2 and got destroyed while concurrently killing the GC scene. They're not in t1 cuz they're not good enough. Simple as. Mayyyybe one or two can crack ir and play half decent but they're definitely not in t3 GC for any reason other than themselves.
