who expected excel? just because they are a known org? this was their first official tourney after changes and those changes weren't particularly groundbreaking.

On paper excel have better individuals(or at least more known) than ucam, therefore that should have been enough for excel to stroll through. However, it seems that ucam managed to beat excel through better team cohesion to an extent where superiority of excel individuals was not that much of a factor anymore

With the case of excel, in my opinion, they're not that insane on paper, they're just decent(when it comes to top32 territory). Don't feel like calling out anyone in specific, but just look at the history of some of these players and you'll know what I'm saying.

Yeah you're right, I fell for known name bias. The players on excel were usually the ones that would get kicked and after the kicks those respective teams all of a sudden would become much better.
