If a ref is unsure about a call you don't stop the game, you let them play until a stoppage and then review it. This is basic ball knowledge

no i think if a foul happens impending for review then the game is immediately stopped
if the referee didnt clearly see the incident or wasnt sure whether it was a foul he should let the attack play out and check var afterward. If he blows the whistle immediately because a player appears to have been fouled, and it turns out there wasnt actually a foul, he could end up stopping a dangerous attack for the opposing team. Like thats what i hate about world cup people who dont know shit about football be having opinions
if the ref is unsure of a foul he needs to let the play go on because 1) if it is a foul he can just review it later and disallow the goal 2) if its not and he calls it mid-attack then hes directly affecting match result by calling it wrong and stopping a clear goal chance. its fifa recommendation because it is the more fair and it happens everywhere on every league. its also why linesman are taking more time to get the flag up, they wait to see if the team scores cause if they are wrong it doesn't affect the outcome

If it was deserved, then Egypt should have a penalty on the 3rd Argentina goal. The problem is the lack of consistency.

egypt did not deserve a penalty for argentinas 3rd goal at all. salah lost the ball from the defender hitting the ball first, and the player dived in the box
then again Argentina won't deserve the first pk my guy because macca dived into the defender's legs
the difference is the defender didnt get the ball at all, while the argentina player did. The penalty was missed anyway so it didnt even decide the game, argentina rightfully won that game
