i never got why everyone dismissed lightningfast so quickly. as i understand he was on a new role (smokes) he wasnt used to and still played okay
okay isnt great but given the results and performances of the team as a whole it's understandable. nobody from that roster has gone on to do well and half retired after that season and still people act like he was the disappointment

Lightningfast is a decent player. The issue lies with how turbulent the talent pool is especially if you have players in Tier 2 who are extremely promising as well as players on good orgs who had their contracts released/expired. Couple this with how orgs in general just have really high turnover save for a few exceptions. GE is probably the most notorious team with high turnover.
Lightningfast probably could get a place, but it would be difficult for him currently as he is on a pick-up team which is unlikely to make a run for Ascension. He did alright on Velocity last year, but the opportunity to get a recently released Masters-winning player such as Patmen and a promising IGL like Xavi8k overshadowed all opportunity for Lightningfast.
Rushi isn't wrong. When did a Indian VCL team ever come close to qualifying through ascension? Indian teams have their best players and imports playing while other teams have the best players from their region playing in Tier 1. So the cream of the best players of SA are not close to the true tier 2 scenes of the other regions leave alone the best players
Chillout buddy its only noman who is tier 1 player that ur competing against. And hongkong is suppose to have a smaller vct scene than india. This match doesnt prove that india players r good enough for vct. If they are, then we should see atleast one player in any vct team. Its not a coincidence that none of them is being picked up
Don't forget SiuFatBB aka TMV's GOAT. Asides him and NoMan, I have to agree on your take about the Hong Kong team vs India: Hong Kong have 3 players who have seen no Tier 2 play for 1-2 years and even then, they were on teams which were mediocre. India is running a full team of Tier 2 players who have all been playing this season.
On paper, India should be winning this so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise. If India can play well against some of the more bulked up teams, I can see this getting really interesting for Indian prospects.

cant blame them for 2023, indian talent was actually not good back them. but they really should've stuck with LF, add 1 or 2 more pure aimer Indians, get a good ass coach to level up their game and invest in a long term project. I genuinely believe a 3 indian+2 import roster would have worked sooner or later

Whoever says its not rushi fault are slow. The whole reason they got the slot was to get indian talent a platform. He made an academy team for one year now those players are one of the best in the region if he actually committed to indian talent we undeniably would have had a good roster
