if you start using linux your ram usage , cpu , gpu heating would reduce so much other than playing valorant using linux is better in starting it might be little hard but its worth it although i dont use it but i have tried it once specially if ur a laptop user
wanted to swap to linux, but I can't play val and sum other games on there, so I decided not to

i work on linux and play games on windows
the only problem is for some linux distributions you have to turn off secure boot
I only use my pc for gaming or watching videos on youtube, I rarely use it for school or anything, so there's no need for a seperate OS when I can just do it on windows
why not, you won't have to worry about any riotslop anymore and open source is fun
I am working on research project + I code a lot, like A LOT A LOT and I don't play valorant much
Plus I have dual booted my pc so I can always switch to Windows if I need to, but it's not too often nowadays.
Many apps have either direct support on Linux or open-source alternatives (though not all are at the same level). Windows itself is copying Linux features. You (as the user) have the total control of your laptop, what is installed and running on it, instead of suffering at the hands of Winslop. It's endlessly customizable; tiling/scrolling window managers are something I can't live without right now. Also, if you have an old laptop or something lying around, you can breath life into it with Linux, set up homelab servers, self-host stuff, and take advantage of the open-source software community being awesome and willing to listen to user feedback.
The only sticking point for many people, specially for people here, will be playing some specific games. I don't think there is a solution for playing something like Val on Linux yet but I heard for many games, they run just as good (if not better) due to the recent optimizations. I don't game anymore for work reasons (watching VCT is enough usually) so for me personally, it's not a problem. Otherwise, dual-booting or staying with only Linux installed and having most games available, are valid options.
Or, you have an advanced machine and do not mind how much Windows sucks, as you don't really care about what is going on under the hood. I guess that's fine as well.

windows was making my laptop fight for its life. I installed manjaro after watching a yt vidoeo, then switched to fedora after a driver update would make me have to manually reinstall a couple after they corrupted because I was an idiot and didn't read the forum updates. was considering installing debian but decided against it since it literally doesn't matter & fedora is just plug & install. it's very good if you just care about school work
windows is essential for playing the games that I do and cuz I just genp adobe on my more powerful desktop for classes there's not much reason for me to switch to open source alternatives anyways
