I rather watch MIBR, 100T or Other Korean teams on Masters more than CN teams, they always getting dogwalked in international
I swear even C9 could do better in internarional than these Chinese teams bro

Riot cares about viewership, CN viewer doing a lot of heavy lifting. And beside, we can't just write off a region because "they haven't done shit". Might as well remove EMEA with that logic
you and FNS share the same singular braincell or you just repeating what he says..... has to be the most retarded valorant related take ive ever heard
yea lil bro.... getting 0-2d every event and making 2 finals every year is definitely the same level of competitiveness
if people just accepted CN is bad there wouldnt be any hate, but dumb mfs like you push this stupid narrative that just increases the hate tenfold when CN goes 0-2 as always and people who were promised that CN was better than EMEA start rage hating them
emea latest placement at an international: Top 6
CN latest placement at an international: Top 6
talking about competitive when it's fnatic doing the heavy lifting.
EMEA average placement in franchising: ~5.9
China: ~9.8
No shame in being stupid but dont be arrogant about it as well
believe what you want, still won't change EMEA being a one team region with dead viewership
region with dead viewership
finally you say something that isnt pure retardation and is actually factually true, good job bud
they played way less competitive matches than the rest of the whole world, theyll literally catch up soon stop being weird
uneven region international slot kills the game. CS and Fortnite already killed asia scene.
it’s more of the way the league is rn. i think stuff would be changed for the better next year without killing the region.
People talking about viewership are lost.
When a region is uncompetitive the viewership will die anyway. We've seen it in multiple Esports. NA doesn't watch CS or League because they suck. China viewership is going to die regardless because Chinese fans aren't going to keep tuning in to watch their region go 0-2 every international. May as well cut bait now because it is an actual travesty teams that could actually compete miss out for this region to show up and give 4 teams a free win.
what about now? I think they were just struggling to get used to an international stage. They seem to stabilize when the crowd cheers them on. They might be dark horses at shangai you never know
Nothing that happened changed my opinion. My opinion was never based off 1 international like most of the comments in this thread, but from the pattern overall.
I played competitively in Rocket League. RL had major regions and minor regions, with the minor regions being the regions added later in the games life cycle. The minor regions had less international spots then the majors. Yet, what become apparent was that MENA was simply better than even the major regions outside of NA and EU. Despite joining later than SAM and OCE, they outperformed them at internationals. So eventually, everyone agreed that MENA needed more international spots and they took some away from OCE.
The same thing should happen to Valorant. If China, keeps underperforming on average compared to other regions, they should get automatic spots taken away. If they are competitive it doesn't need to happen. I'm not sure why this is controversial when esports should be merit based.
In fact, your viewpoint is somewhat narrow. Even if the Chinese team loses 0-2, it will not dampen Chinese viewers' enthusiasm for watching the matches. On the contrary, removing the Chinese team from the competition would cost the event its Chinese audience. To put it another way, if a game has official servers in China, is publicly launched, maintains steady popularity, and hosts official tournaments, it will inevitably draw attention within China. Its overall popularity in the country will then determine just how much viewership it gets.
Hey I used to be a big fan of rocket leauge esports as well but I thought their system regarding regions was quite bad for the minor regions. The issue with minor regions is not lack of talent but lack of exposure. If not at tier 1 there should be a level of competing that exposes people to lans and playing in front of bright lights. The major regions are most often the west since they are better off economically and can afford to have an extensive tournament circuit even if its not tier 1. Asia's problem of lack of exposure is quite well solved by riot providing fixed slots which forces some teams to learn how to play on the biggest stage.
You look at EDG's run, they got the momentum and they were unstoppable. The biggest problems for the smaller regions is mentality. Of course there should be a penalty for performing badly but I think the franchising system does a decent job at it since you have to be good to stay in the league. Granted other penalties could work better but removing slots will only make it much harder for that part of the world to do well in the esport.
all i took from this is remove americas international slots even tho i'm from the US xD
Playoff wins
EMEA - 1
APAC - 1
CN - 2
AMER - 0 xdd
If you're reacting to each international individual than China would've already lost it's slots after Santiago...
Even cs viewership is big in china. They just love the game.
Viwership never gonna die.Coz they got the biggest playerbase.
Import coaches. That's what I'm gonna say. If the coaches are not interested to come, then go to them. Bootcamp in America or EU. Surely there are some decent T2 or former T1 coaches that will be eager to work/analyze the problem that they have. Also, train them mentally. That's all I have got.
