Valorant has to market itself towards children to save western viewership. One of the reasons viewership is declining is that there are less new players and hence less people keeping up with the esports. The people who do/did watch the esports are growing older and more busy. When games like marvel rivals and Fortnite are your competitors you clearly gotta do more.

valorant is not kind to new players and casual players will almost never play unless its with friends

There are a few ways we can get more viewers:

  • new format next year which allows for more exciting storylines etc
  • valorant gets a dynasty. i get that many people don’t want there to be one team that wins everything, but this is how u attract the casual gloryhunting fans. we see this first hand in league of legends T1.
  • more drama and personality. The scene is so stale without much drama and personality. we need players like siufatbb and boostio who just cause drama and excitement
  • fix rank(many ways we can go about this)
  • new gamemodes that allows content creation to thrive. valorant content is so stale cuz u can barely be creative with it

Dynasty is only really good for the region that has the dynasty, look at NA in LoL. It just draws away attention to one's native region if they don't think they're competitive enough. Like sure T1 in their second dynasty is great for juicing Riot's bottom line and the Korean scene, but it doesn't do much for EMEA or NA at all.

u underestimate gloryhunting. It doesn’t just extend to one own region. many T1 fans are literally americans. I’m also not saying we need a super dominant dynasty in valorant, we just need one that is strong enough where it attracts viewers

son…..

Ideally, the best scenario would be for each region to have their own dynasty. sentinels for americas, prx for pacific, edg for china, and fnatic for emea(i think it is good for the game if they win one more trophy)

Honestly I would settle for EMEA just winning an international trophy soon in Valo; it sucks for any regional fanbase to not feel like they are able to cross the mountain no matter what (I'm an NA native that knows how much that sucks to see, especially in LCS). I really really want to emphasize how damaging it is to not ever feel like there's hope or a singular instance of happiness and thats mass majority of NA, its just going through the motions year after year atm.

I'm not saying that it won't boost viewership overall, it directly affects viewership in one's local area. Like look at how many global viewers look at the LCK broadcast and then look at the viewership in LEC and LCS. People care if their own region is competitive or not, or they'll just put their time and money where they think it'll be rewarded. You don't want to be left with only hardcore fans that are ride or die with the orgs in the region. Those T1 fans ain't buying Dignitas merch that's for sure.

absolutely, after a certain point stuff you used to like before doesn't interest you anymore; valorant needs to cater to even more audience (especially younger ones)

the game right now is taking the league route slowly (in terms of viewership), west losing interest

the more fun the game is, it will attract a larger playerbase; this game has no incentive towards grinding, ranked rewards are dogshit, ranked system is bad, nothing fun in the game that players start quitting (happened with me as well, though i haven't quit watching vct)
