After yesterday's Plat Chat, I went back and saw the Pearl again and they weren't lying. PRX never really had a chance on this map. They got read so hard that they didn't even look like PRX. This guy did such a great read on PRX. I love it. Youtuber analysts are the new meta?!

nah thats not really a counter to what they said though. prep and luck arent opposites, theyre both part of it. like yeah he watches vods and thats good coaching but one good read doesnt mean hes out here reinventing the wheel. coaches have been doing this for years, the difference is platoon got clipped and posted to youtube so now everyone acts like hes the first person to ever break down a team. the analysis is fine but calling it the new meta when its just normal vod review prep is kinda wild. he put in work sure but so does literally every other coach worth their salt, they just dont get the content push

nah the thing is kickoff was just different. like the meta was all over the place and teams were still figuring out what works. by december things had settled into more patterns so when youre breaking down vods you actually have stuff to work with. early stage vct is always chaotic so even if youre prepping hard sometimes the read just doesnt land cause nobody knows whats happening yet. doesnt mean he wasnt working but timing matters alot for how good your analysis actually looks on stage

I have just came across this thread but personally doubt his abilities. He was completely read but PRX looked to throw away rounds. One tell that PRX were able to capitalise on was the fact that if you saw KJ turret towards B/Street the team was stacked towards A.
Furthermore the pearl they played basically the same Pearl gameplan that Full Sense played but with KJ over Cypher. To me that is not something to glaze and look towards. People will say i am hating but watching the Pearl back these 2 statements can be true. PRX played bad and GE had a okay level gameplan
I personally also do not think he is that good. Because if he was and there was real impact GE would not have been that bad last year. But that clearly is not the case.
