Why does your country have one of the largest population in the world but the only notable name in the scene is Skrossi
What is holding India back? Culture?
No offense just being curious

from what ive heard most of their players treat it like a job, they only put in the bare minimum and dont practice much outside of what they have to (from what ive heard)
I think the culture is just more mobile gaming focused because everyone has a phone and I checked and found some data from the ITU that says that only 70% of the Indian population has internet which is a big chunk lacking internet
UNderdevelopped and PC culture not yet, but they will grow in the future, they are starting to have a decent playerpool
GE made playoffs for the first time, do you think this will be celebrated in the indian community (eventhough their team has no indian)
nope, only 5-6 die hard ge fans might be celebrating rest dont even care
low pc culture is literally every asia country problem, except kr/cn/and maybe jp
as smb whos half indian most of the people are mainly focused on mobile gaming.
But Indonesia has a massive mobile gaming culture too but still able to produce so many talents like forsaken and mindfreak
there are honestly good indian players its just that they dont care much about the pc scene its focused on the moblie side
but honestly there are some good indian players who have the potential for t1 (venka, techo)
india was good at pubgm but the govt just banned that game twice for 2 years, killing its esports, as the gateway to international events was closed for like 3yrs, which made india in pubgm the china of vct internationals
indian f0rsaken set back indian esports by like a decade or more when he was on optic cs
even then they were given plenty of chances on previous iteration of GE, but still looked like a tier 2 team at best
they just dont have many pc players after the legitimacy of it took such a massive hit
is the culture , no future in esports so no point of investing time, money and effort into something that might not even work out ,
Job oriented mentality has ruined indian youth creativity , curiosity etc. final aim is to earn living and sustain a family
this has always been my take:
their tier 1 ORG decided to only let one Indian player play since the start of franchise
and then decide not to sign any Indian player again after 2024
GE not even give enough Indian players a chance
The Big population numbers doesnt matter when the number of people who can afford a good gaming PC+Broadband connection+can afford to give time to gaming would be less than Nordic countries.
Well it's the mindset of parents too, idk how many gamers died following the rat race of becoming doctors and engineer
