How can europe be so bad in an fps game?
Not as bad as people are making them out to be. People forming opinions from TMV and pl0t chat
your only good teams are FNC and 2024 TH
even china has a champs trophy in franchising era before emea
(while I think TMV and pl0t chat are spot on atm with EMEA looking rough)
international results the past few years have been fine, so thats not really a point to go off of
EMEA outperformed Americas in terms of average placements last year for example
Pacific is the outlier towards the top and china is the only one with a clear gap
Pacific is the outlier towards the top and china is the only one with a clear gap
there is 0 metrics that proves this, how stupid can you be
Idk what to tell ya
Pacific 5.38, Americas 6.55, EMEA 6.44 and China 9.38
Look at champs if you wanna see why; EMEA was... abysmal (worse than China!) before that
Just the tourneys having so few teams that champs makes all the difference
Also due to that if you wanna use other methods of analysis like percentiles, Americas will overtake EMEA in that (since the Sen last place will get removed)
Yeah you're right, looked at the placements and i think cuz 4 teams come last at champs and sen was one of them, it lowers it more than the other tournaments. I was thinking about the placements of the top team per region, but thats not really the same thing. mb
this point gotta be one of the dumbest possible in this context. If you genuinely think EMEA's problem is individual based you simply don't watch the games
I mean, inarguably a larger talent pool usually leads to better top talent
And cs is undeniably extremely dominant compared to valorant in Europe
the talent pool in european valorant is huge asf what are we even saying
lowkey just unlucky, a lot of 2nd place finishes and close series. if they had a few lucky timings on some swingrounds in those series emea would have a lot more.
i think a fairly large part of it is actually the region based tier 2 system means good teams face less competition because the competition is so spread out that teams and players have to develop less, on top of that is the fact ppl do actually overstate how "behind" the region actually is compared to pacific americas, in 2024 and 2025 emea was joint 2nd-3rd in average placement over the entire year
There's just no IGL's or coaches in EMEA, partially because very very few new ones come up in the scene because there's zero reason for incredibly smart, tactically minded FPS players in Europe to pick a volatile meta shifting game like Valorant vs the incredibly stable solved CS
Basically the difference between becoming a chess master in a game that doesn't change against becoming a Magic the Gathering pro in a game who's meta constantly shifts every few months and is incredibly difficult to have long term success in
