GX upcoming change preds

So it's pretty clear GX are gonna do the exact same thing they did last year and make last minute changes to run for champs

The question is who's out and who's in?

Obviously they're gonna keep Cloud and westside, the 2 best shooters on the team and the IGL in Cloud. But imo the other 3 are all up for the chopping block.

Flickless would be the easiest to justify keeping he is a great player but he is absolutely not suited for this meta unless they move him over to the Phoenix and have him on perma Viper otherwise. If they do choose to get rid of him then I'd bet they pick an aggro flex player like Lar0k. Now GSR would undoubtedly be their best choice but Liquid is most certainly bringing him in once he turns 18. I'd say pyrolll is probably the next best player on the market that fits the description. He can play pretty much every role, duellist included and is a pretty aggressive player who can fit double dive as well as play anything Flickless could beforehand if they wanted to use any of their old stuff

The next player I could see getting cut is grubinho. He's a very inconsistent player and has a tendency to massively underperform in big games. Now there's 2 routes I could see them going with the grubinho replacement. One is just getting a one to one pure smokes player swap, which I could see either Proxh or Susano, with Susano probably being the better shout because I doubt Proxh would want to leave EP. Now the other route I could see them going is keeping Flickless and picking up a player that can flex between smokes and duellist, like globeX or Leare (probably globeX let's be honest). Then they could swap Flickless between Omen and Kay/o and swap globeX between secondary duellist and Omen.

And finally ara probably needs to go. He's just so inconsistent and reliant on the op that I don't think he's cut out for tier 1 unless he really picks up his form for the rest of stage 1. Obviously kozzy is the best duellist in tier 2 but he's also not old enough so their next best bet is either SimonD4rk or Razziss. I'd probably go Razziss since he can play pretty much every duellist at a level that can farm tier 2 consistently.

So their roster for stage 2 would either be:

going to gx where he seems like he’d be a great fit as well as being able to revitalize a team that made champs playoffs last year seems infinitely better

True but also with how open 2027 is gonna be I could still see EP sticking together for the long term because this team would farm open quals and the rumours are that 17 year olds can now compete at internationals again, and kozzy turns 17 after the first Masters in 2027 so the roster still deffo has a future that Proxh could want to stick with

I mean I doubt GX is gonna be one of the partnered teams next year so he'd pretty much be starting from the same place whether he stuck with EP or jumped ship to GX

u complete dumbass, from next year the system changes totally and that includes age rules obviously. this 17yo rule was only for this year for path to champs for t2 teams, which isnt even possible. might as well have not said anything a few months ago when they announced t2 changes

icl unless you REALLY want (are desperate) a tier 1 trophy in 2026 it'd probably be better for someone like Proxh to stick with EP

you get to farm tier 2 on a team with good chances to make it into franchise playoffs, and even there you'd probably run most of everyone's pockets considering the state of a lot of teams

IF they make champs they get champs bundle money (nearly $100 million + prize pool) on top of financial rewards/other incentives provided by riot which would most definitely equalize if not beat a t1 salary for one split--performance at champs probably gets written off even if they get dogged on cause hypercarry kozzy couldn't make the lan + riot probably spins a sympathetic narrative for EP cause they're T2 and them making it at all is good for 2027

on the flip-side joining giantx means having to bring an underperforming team up to competitive standards with minimal (iirc) champs points and an arguably lesser ceiling than others with no guarantee that you'll remain franchised into the next year. franchised or not, open circuit means salaries will go down anyway and job security disappearing into thin air unless you're genuinely world class. why do that unless you're desperate for a trophy right now?

The first one is lowkey much better than the second one. Susano is far from ready and I think Pyroll is the definition of a T1.5 player as much as I think this kind of narrative is pretty dumb

Idk I think pyrolll's showing on KC last year kinda doomed him to do ass I think we haven't really seen him have a proper tier 1 showing + Susano was getting hard sold at clash being put on Yoru instead of smokes

I've watched both of these players in their respective leagues and my opinion hasn't really changed. I think k Susano had a strong beggining to the season but slowed down clearly and clash was clearly not representative of his actual skill but still. Pyroll is good especially on smokes but there are just better players to pick up in Sevire GlobeX and Slaughter if he speaks English

True Slaughter could be a shout for a pure smokes player I just went with Susano cuz I didn't know how good his English was, Sevire I think could be a bit more of a shout for the flex spot tho idk how good his duellist is so I'd lean pyrolll still specifically for GX

Only agent they put him on that he doesn't still play in tier 2 was Tejo and that was only one map that they had him on it + Tejo is easy as fuck and probably the best agent to farm rating on
