Hi VLR team,
I’m a regular user and genuinely appreciate how comprehensive and reliable the data is. As Valorant continues to grow, it feels like there’s real scope for VLR to evolve alongside the scene.
One feature that would significantly improve engagement is calendar subscription support (e.g. iCal/ICS feeds), allowing users to sync matches for specific teams, tournaments, or regions directly with their personal calendars. Given how packed the competitive schedule is, this would make following the scene much easier.
Beyond that, a few areas that could modernise the platform:
Personalisation
- User accounts with followed teams/players
- Optional match start/result notifications
- Customisable homepage feed
This would make it feel more like sports apps like for the NBA or the Premier League or even ESPN/Bleacher Report etc.
Data & Analysis
- Patch-based stat filtering
- Interactive visualisations (player form graphs, agent pick trends)
- Optional API or CSV export for analysts
This would make it more useful not for just casual fans and users but for others in the scene including watch parties, the valorant broadcast, particularly for analysts.
Quality of Life
- Sticky scoreboard and quick “jump to map” links on match pages
- Collapsible stat tables
- Auto-detected timezone (we have already but) with clear local display and countdown timers
- Remembered filters (region, live matches toggle, tier)
- Cleaner mobile layout with compact match summaries
VLR is already a strong statistical backbone for the community. With a few usability refinements and some light personalisation, it could feel less like a static database and more like a modern esports hub/dashboard.
Thanks for all the work you put into maintaining it!
