TS Manager Addresses Nepotism Allegations on FB

Team Secret's Country Manager, Yamyam, ranted on Facebook about the hate the team has been receiving. When people called out the team's "nepotism" because her Husband, Jessievash is still a player of the team, she responded this:

"Nepotism? Kasi? Porket magasawa kami na nasa iisang kami? Hindi na ba pwede magdecide ngayon higher ups? Feeling ko mali kayo ng kinommentan"

Translated to English:

"Nepotism? Just because we’re married and work in the same organization? Aren’t the higher-ups the ones who decide on the roster? Your comments are completely off."

IDK but this pissed me off even more. Why is she acting like she has nothing to do with the team's management? You're the COUNTRY manager! You control the local operations! Contracts and Renewals go through you! You get to choose who are on the team! Yes, you don't make the final call, BUT YOU GET TO ORGANIZE THE ROSTER WITH YOUR HUSBAND AND PRESENT IT TO YOUR SUPERIOR FOR APPROVAL. She keeps acting like she doesn't know what they did wrong. You know exactly what you're doing.

Bruh, RRQ got alot of HATE from Indonesian at the beginning of the franchised league (absolutely deserved) for keeping their unknown tier 2 pinoy roster despite being choosen to reps Indonesia while BOOM were literally the best indo and SEA team at the time next to ONIC G (both were Indonesian orgs).

TS can get away doing nepo shits like this in tier 1 probably because either because filipinos are too soft just as you said or because nobody care about valorant in the philippines because their community are too small.. CMIIW but the only relevant tier 2 SEA region with decent viewership were only Thai and Indo before SOOP setback all of that progress into nothing.

Well she mocked other comments, saying “you guys think I’m the CEO” so it’s probably John Yao, the owner of Team Secret, lmao. If she were just the Valorant Team manager, I wouldn’t be this mad. But she’s the Country Manager. T_T

She also held Team Secret’s Wild Rift team before, and both teams used to bootcamp in the Philippines with private living quarters and accommodations, so she clearly has real authority. Yet she keeps acting innocent.

Are the higher-ups she mentioned in the room with us ? Every Valorant team I know closely has their roster made by Coach and Org Manager. Or Alternatively they hire an agency who creates the roster according to budget and then the org signs them. The only thing that happens is in some team there's a guy usually IGL who has more inputs in team formation so he does the trials , recommendation of players and even coach to sign and in other teams coach has more say he is signed first or is there from before and he forms the team. Secret has already thrown coach Meow out who probably had input in signing Koreans in TenTen and Slyvan so I have no idea if YamYam and JC aren't the one deciding who else is even deciding.
