lets say this sen '26 tean is like sen '23

what does that then mean for kaplan as a coach and his success in 2024 and to a lesser extent 2025 (if u call qualifying for internationals success)

his success was because of zekken being in his prime and tenz supporting him and johnqts igl being at an all time high with sacy’s vet presence

Considering he had tenz, sacy and zekken in 2024 and that was pretty much his only excellent year, he'll likely be like Chet where it looks like he was just carried by his players in a good meta for those players.

Well I mean that was because they didn't have a proper IGL and yes kaplan did bring structure to a team that desperately needed it, and he did make Sen's sunset and split very good, but once teams started to pick those maps apart his weaknesses started to show, just like Chet, but with Chet it was Chamber rather than two good maps.

Reduxx was bad, no idea why he was keeping pushing up with OP in defense if it failed for 2 rounds. I also think Kyu's call was good, but there was no midround from JOHN. ALso skye in breeze without SOVA was hard becasue mid is hard to control

His rep will never be bad imo. Those players were more or less already together before he came and they did nothing together. He is an integral reason for tenz hitting a second prime. And Zekken wasn’t nearly as good of a player prior to Kaplan joining. Sen were at their best when he was coaching. 26 won’t be like 22 but even if it is he’d still be a solid coach imo. Just not one of the best anymore.

I’m assuming you’re discrediting his success because the players were really good in 2024… I’m saying those same players minus Johnqt were already essentially together in 23… unless you wanna just attribute all that success to Johnqt ig? Kaplan clearly played a major role in that teams success.

im not discrediting anything im just gauging opinions thats why i asked a question and didnt state an opinion

The question presupposes that even if hypothetical.

perhaps for someone as jaded and presumptuous as yourself but on merit its just a question that many provided their answer to

All questions have intent behind them. No need to be disingenuous. But if you’re set in bad faith and are saying that was not what prompted the questions than sure same thing. His success as a coach would remain the same still having massive success in 2024 and decent success in 2025 with bad years like any other coach.

like i said you presume to know the intent but you couldnt be more wrong

as such

jaded and presumptuous

clearly telling you it was a simple question the first time wasn't enough so i'll try again

it was a simple question

Like I said all questions have intent it being a simple question doesn’t stop it from having intent because again… all questions have intent so it’s not presumptuous nor jaded at all assumptive and what that intent is? Maybe. I understand you want me to believe it’s “just a question” as you say hence why I answered without even context or pretense as well. I already gave that answer idk if you’re too defensive to accept it. But it does exist.

u realise kaplan was head coach in 2023 for sen

Sure but that was made In middle of kickoff where they proceeded to need a sub and Kaplan was struggling to actually structure and build the roster. Which is my point. Individual pieces do not make a team.

I love that in the end, I was right. Time for me to ride off into the sunset.

kaplan is a good interpersonal coach but ive never really been impressed with sentinels meta reads or macro do i think a lot of his success was down to having insane mechanical players

I mean they still have insane mechanical players now and his read in 2024 were fine but back then they have drewspark, in 2025 and 2026 he and gunter has not done a good job keeping up with the top team and they don't have experienced top players to bail them out like TenZ zekken or even Sacy.

yeah thats another thing the experience really helped them and yeah even in 2024 that drewspark deadlock shit they did for stage 2 and start of champs was really shit
