This years roster seems like pretty much the same or even the sidegrade compared to last years roster. I think Yay=dgzin, derrek + icy= bao+oke, com=nature. This purely on fragging.
People might say bao+oke is better than derrek+icy, but I think you are forgetting how good and consistent derrek was last year and Icy had a couple good maps where he popped off.

I am really confused why they dropped yay and derrek honestly, they played really great last year and were generally consistent even when team was playing bad.

i feel like yay is in the same boat as demon1, orgs drop them even if they play decent - good because they expect better
yay was fine last year but eg prob tried getting 2022 yay to come back and were disappointed when it didnt happen so they dropped him, even when he didnt play bad enough to be dropped

yay and demon1 don't have the intangibles

no agent pool, limited calling, no vibes, so if you're going to keep them they need to have outsized impact on the fragging department

You say that but in this new meta you dont need a good agent pool to be part of a team. Util sentinels are pretty much useless now and everybody is playing chamber/veto or no senti at all. They couldve just stayed on the roster and play the agents Cryo, babybay and penny is playing

cryo is one of the best fraggers on the planet, babybay is a great vibes guy that can call and penny can play like 3 roles on a high level, they have the intangibles to justify keeping them

most orgs will want to think big picture and play for longevity, once meta changes then what happens? It's just not a good investment for them IMO.

I dont how you are so confident that they wont be able to play traditional senti at all. I just dont get all the inflexibility talk players get because other than entry duelist and initiator, pro player should be able to play every other agent to a good level.
Just look at Jingg, he is only master at raze and pheonix but his team is always top 3 team in the region. Sure, he is now occasionally playing omen, waylay, even sage but you can see he isnt as comfortable

I think the problem is we expect huge performances from these players even tho they are not playing carry agents anymore when they change roles. Their fragging is naturally gonna be worse but I dont think yay had a bad year by any means to justify dropping him.

Without working there, one can only assume. Who knows...maybe it was also a personality fit? It matters a lot. Even if you're great at shooting, but lack other valuable qualities, it can impact a team dynamic.

I put demon1 and yay on the same boat. with needing so many resources to play around them to succeed. when you strip that aspect away there's plenty of better players to choose from that requires less help to shine and provide value.

Dgzin clears yay come on bro. I didn't even read the rest cuz it's pointless. This roster isn't a huge upgrade but calling it a sidegrade is not serious

Am I the only one who watched stage 1 playoffs last year? Yay almost carried his team singlehandedly to a masters qualification while dgzin saved awp every round in that same competetion's group stage and lost every game.
No hate but so many players from South America go for saves in 1 man down retakes and play for exits a lot, thats why their scorelines look mental even if their impact isnt that big. You cant tell me dgzin had better performanc in VCT 2025 Stage 1 than yay.

And yeah I can absolutely tell you that in the big of 26 DGhim is a better player than yay the most one dimensional player oat

dgz is 100% an upgrade over yay and okeanos + bao is at least even with but at most way better than derrek + icy

they just had a really bad gameplan yesterday but the player quality is definitely there

dgz > Yay , c0m > nature(individually can't comment on his igling just yet) , okeanos > Derrek , Bao > Icy , Supamen should not be in tier 1 if imma be honest should have kept yay and made him play senti while bao plays smokes or vice versa

Oke is excellent, definitely their best player
Icy should no longer be in any conversation
Dgzin is cracked but I do think he gets slightly overrated. He's at his best with an awp

Yeah I mightve been wrong about icy but replacements for yay and derrek are definitely not upgrades, at least visually speaking

They are a better team this year but they need to be more aggressive.C0m should allow Oke and dg to go all out instead of relying on set retakes

Bao is much better than icy bro, yall are tripping cuz potter is tripping. Bao should be on perma senti/viper but they got him playing primary smokes instead of supamen for some reason

Well Bao can and has played smokes in the past, actually he was originally a smokes player. My issue is that if you don’t let him just play one or the other, it breeds inconsistency
