no shit man. liquid calories has to play a large part in that 6k. you should consider sugar-free alternatives.

idk your metabolism but you would have to have a crazy eating schedule to be able to ingest 6000 calories in one day and not have any noticeable changes in your weight.

if you want to gain weight, depending on your body composition you could consider adding small snacks throughout the day on top of your regular structured diet.

alternatively if you don't want to feel fatigued and satiate your hunger pangs you should increase the amount of protein in your diet and lower your carbs, or consider complex carbs that won't spike your energy levels.

for the sake of your long-term health i would recommend that you start to take your approach to your diet more seriously.

as a living organism you derive your energy from the food you consume and the rest you take.

if the supply of food is impacted that affects your quality of sleep and your energy levels. obviously, if you aren't sleeping well then you certainly won't be moving well.

keeping a regular diet:
something light in the morning, oats, fruit, etc. you could do with a protein shake too if you want. i'm not an expert but you could just skip it if you don't feel like it as long as you have a good lunch and dinner.
have a nice meal for lunch and eat heavy for dinner if you feel like it.

don't eat till you're full, rather eat until you're no longer hungry. it's okay to have leftovers, it's not okay to binge.

have some snacks during the day to keep you energised. fruits are pretty good for this.

try to cut out fast food/junk food as they can fatigue you easily.

consuming a lot of protein keeps you fuller for longer as well!

i hope you start following a proper diet as soon as you can as i am actually a little concerned for your health.

has to be bullshit. Unless you are eating fast food 4 times a day you cannot just get 6k cals with healthy whole foods easily

never said it was easy just some days i eat a full meal and still feel as hungry as before i ate anything at all so i end up eating an absurd amount of food

This sort of reminds of those youtubers who do food challenges. They will do a food challenge on one day and wont eat for the next couple of days.

I do the same thing as well when I am out of the gym. Honestly I would not say that it is healthy but I have yet to experience any problems.

Ermmm, not sure if I am the best person to give advice so take my words lightly but I think it's not necessarily a ED but do think it's unusual to have such large variance in cals. But if you feel healthy than I think you are good

Like unless I go out or something, I usually eat about the same amount daily but I don't think I am normal since I actually eat the exact same thing on a week-to-week basis

i would assume some people with EDs feel fine despite their unhealthy eating habits.

generally binge eating is considered an ED, and just because you fast the next day does not necessarily smooth over any problems.

When you binge and fast, the total calorie count per day may average out to normal levels, but your body may feel the need to binge again, which perpetuates an unhealthy cycle of binge->fast->binge->fast.

The healthiest way to consume your food is to have balanced meals throughout the day to help your body acclimate to the food availability in your environment.

this is assuming you are actually binge eating. you said you eat > 2500 calories a day sometimes, which I don't think is too bad for someone of your height and age. But depending on your body composition you may gain weight without a healthy amount of exercise, so keep that in mind.

i see
i mean i used to be pretty fat so Ig i always thought of eating less as meaning good

it depends on your goals. if you want to lose weight then eating at a caloric deficit is important, but if you don't structure your meals and elect to basically starve yourself half the week then that will probably cause long-term health issues, either in the form of unhealthy dieting habits, fatigue, or something like that.

consider pairing a caloric deficit of like 400 or 500 calories with regular exercise (resistance training and/or cardio) and you will probably see results over a few months.

i c
welp
in 2022 (which is where my eating issues began)
i tried a tiktok weight loss "1200 CAL DEFICIT DIET'
prolly not wise

generally speaking a 1000+ caloric deficit is pretty insane yeah. i have went on a 1000 or so caloric deficit before, and paired it with resistance training and cardio for 2 hours almost every day.

it does work, but i wouldn't do it again. a big part of binge eating and diets is the yo-yo effect: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weight_cycling

basically if you keep dieting and then failing to adhere to the diet then your body gets better at storing fat due to it basically being in starvation mode, which leads to weight gain again and forces you to diet again, and so on.

no i have no connection with nutrition or anything like that. i study computer engineering.

i go to the gym occasionally though and have dieted before.

i wouldn't say i'm an expert but i guess i know enough to give blanket suggestions.
