PatMen should be dropped

s1mon should have been dropped after edg WON champs, and everyone said I was crazy. People have this mentality of if you win you can keep the same roster. In most cases you can, NRG should. But when you have a player who averages below a 0.9 KD it becomes so hard to win since everyone else is improving at a rapid pace. I wanted PRX to win champs and then still drop patmen. Noobs will disagree but if they dont drop him they will struggle and drop him sometime during the year, might as well do it now so they can be competitive at kickoff.

If you can find a better initiator i guess but idk.

I think saying he's an issue is a stretch. Plenty of very successful teams have had players that average bad stats. Especially alongside fucking Jinggg Something and F0rsaken

benching is... one way to put it

#5

well he did play for one or two games and then got benched

#9

then they exploded him but I guess the bench did come first it was just more extreme afterwards

He was the core team’s “scape goat”. Does that make sense?

i guarantee u the next player to be cut from PRX will be patmen

PRX are a family team, it took them a long time to make one roster change already and you would have to be waiting for a long time for the next one especially given their success in 2025 - winning toronto and top 4 at champs which is their best year to date

kicking s1mon literally killed edg lmao what are you talking about

keeping him would've been worse

Why are we saying this like Chichoo wasn't the greatest player of all time that event? we literally saw what keeping s1mon did to EDG, they started losing regional matchups that they shouldn't have lost lmao. What killed EDG was not being able to utilize/build a replacement because of high expectations.

#19
ConsistentCycles

Frags

so they got a replacement and kept losing regional matchups and failing to make a lan for the first time. you can place the blame on whatever you want but dont pretend like making the roster move wasnt a terrible decision with terrible results

#22
DBStudios

Zjc had the potential to be a great support player for EDG they just didn't give him enough time to develop lmao. Also why are we saying this like keeping s1mon would've been good for the team, the drama was already there and the team chemistry was broken, alongside that they were already losing games they should've been winning.

#28
ConsistentCycles
-2
Frags
+

its valid to replace a player for drama but im saying no one they attempted to replace him made the team perform at the level they were before. they played clearly worse valorant and lost more games regionally than they did with s1mon even when there was drama. edg were obviously in a bad position but the move did make them a worse team, which is what the argument was originally

Kicking s1mon wasn't the main driving factor to EDG's poor performance. EDG's comps were beyond cooked since KK's yoru wasn't good, getting to the point where nobody had to play it instead of him. Especially in a meta where Yoru is the best agent in the game, not being able to use him properly was a bigger driving factor than losing s1mon.

#35
ConsistentCycles

i agree roles was definitely the a major factor, but trying to get a new 5th and swapping between 2 new players is going to make things even harder

#36
DBStudios

I mean that is true but it's also a problem to do with EDG not giving enough time to zjc, just imagine if a team was this reactionary like FNC and Kaajak, they would've never developed one of the best duelists of the year.

I am talking about chicho mate he was garbage after they dropped S1mon. Tried to IGL after being so shit so he can be useful, and even that failed. Idk what to tell you. He was ass and just baiting s1mon for frags

Chichoo was the second highest rated in the team and in the top 10 of stage 1 after s1mon got kicked??? dawg wtf are you saying lmfao

I just checked the games after S1mon left, and saw that Chichoo is consistently bottom frag. You are hallucinating top 2

I don’t think losing patmen is as bad as losing simon
Losing simon has fucked the agent pool of edg to this day
Whereas davai plays the same agents as patmen
It’s also worth noting that prx winning Toronto also had to do with forsaken fully playing smokes, something learning yoru, and jingg learning omen which fixed role issues

That being said patmen has a lot of impact and it would be dumb to make any changes at this point

#13

patmen was pretty impactful in their toronto run he was pretty insane in clutches although he did drop in form at champs which is unfortunate but i’m confident he will bounce back in 2025

Losing simon has fucked the agent pool of edg to this day

I mean not really? EDG's agent pool was already cooked since KK's yoru wasn't the best, zjc was already a good replacement for s1mon they just didn't utilize him well because of the limited time they had with the high expectations they were given.

Zjc signing was just confusing beyond anything else. Yes he played initiator for TYLOO but he's always been a much better senti player. He played 2 t1 games on S1mon's agents and bottom fragged both times then he was never heard from again. He's a good player that got wasted for no reason.

#40
DBStudios

Frags

He got removed because he didn't perform well in those 2 games, had EDG kept him he could've developed into a pretty good player. It's just that EDG needed quick results due to high expectations so they couldn't really develop him.

Bro kicking s1mon literally nerfed the shit outta that team. Like they got jien ( who is insane btw) and even zjc to try to replicate the success, but they have failed massively. Edg was literally at the top, and now they have reached a spot whr they keep losing out to teams like bilibili and drg

just because hes doing below average doesnt mean he should be dropped esp alongside the quality in prx that can kinda make up for him
he just needs to be a good ini, and i don't think there are that many inis on the market better than him because most of them are alr on a roste
so just hope he improves in offseason! and hopefully they do better next year
yall also have to realise that this is his rookie season and already people are calling him out for underperforming, showing that clearly a higher level is expected from him (i.e. people know that he can perform better)

Idk bro, patmen may have lower KD but his impact across games was pretty insane. vlr guys love to talk about stats but unless you are dropping t3xture toronto or aspas champs stats then honestly it matters less than you think, especially when you are a solid role player

I think a comparable player would be beyn from DRX
Both players are very good in the clutch and play to set up the star players on the roster
They also provide intangible benefits in terms of morale and team culture

after s1mon gone edg did not even win CN not even reached final main reason was meta yoru meta did not suit them KK had to learn yoru early but it was to let
