the slow reveal of the dads mental health issues was so devastating, made me feel so many emotions all at once

So good, i watched it 3 times in the cinema the first week after release, always makes me cry

Timothee Chalamet is so talented it's crazy, i love all of his movies and this one was no different (great music too !!)

Its a tragic story. And I love reading history so i was hooked and c'mon oppenheimer is the most important person to ever live.
Oppenheimer created a fucking weapon that could end all of humanity. He shaped the global policies post WWII. The world we are currently living is his world
Don't forget that it was Truman who authorized to drop the bombs, sure, Oppenheimer made them, but it could only have an effect if Truman decided to drop the bomb, which he did. It also could not have been done with the countless scientists before that discovered concepts in science that allowed him to develop the atomic bomb
like it has a lot to do with geopolitics , science , history so ya I can definitely understand why some ppl who got no knowledge abt the world would hate it or not find it to be a good movie

If you’re not already a fan of Christopher Nolan, I personally wouldn’t recommend Oppenheimer. I enjoy his movies but they’ve always felt very corporate to me, like they’re very ambitious and technically impressive, but lack a lot of the heart and personality that I love in my favorite movies, and the raw human connection that make them worth re-watching.
From this year I’d say Twinless, OBAA, and F1 were all great
Previous five years maybe Past Lives, “tick, tick… BOOM!”, and Wicked: Part I?
All-time maybe The Truman Show, Good Will Hunting, and Whiplash (just for reference on my taste)
Honorable mention to Meet the Robinsons for defining my childhood
Perfect Days from 2023 was really good. I haven't watched Aftersun in a while but I think it was kind of slow and meditative like Perfect Days? So if you like Aftersun, you should try Perfect Days
bro i lowkey dont watch movies at all but perfect days is one of the best things i've ever watched, if you're into slow and relaxed but thought-provoking experiences definitely check this out, im so happy u wrote that
