idk if this applies here but idc rage bait has been used wrong ever since it got popular someone hopping on vlr and i am guessing blowing a controversy WAY out of proportion/saying something straight up wrong (racism,sexism or genuine harmful wrong info)
isn't rage bait its rage inducing and people reacting to it is completely normal and justified rage bait(what it actually means if any definition says otherwise its WRONG idc)
is saying something innocent/subjective and getting people to rage about it as in rage BAIT it isn't directly rage inducing and has deniability and or something opinion based like "i like pineapple on pizza" or "the new marvel movies are better imo" or best example "if you like (thing) over (new thing) your just blinded by nostalgia" not (amy situation ex) "i think amy is racist for using a orangutan emoji"or most of the vile shit thats get called rage bait you can EASILY tell if its just "dark humor" with a different font
TLDR; 90% of this site and most sites today don't have actual rage bait and people reacting to drama or objectively wrong info isn't rage bait its rage inducing like those car crash videos "who is in the wrong" or those fake ad acting where MC is a victim in every way and every one they have ever loved used them/abused them and they are kind and have never done wrong ever
