they should do this, maybe with champs caliber igl they could win every event with this roster
ethan doesn't make mistakes and is a veteran of fps and oh yeah hes won 2 champs titles one not igling
But having Ethan wrecks your whole agent comp I don't think it makes much sense considering his agent pool.
Are you going to play double initiator every map? You can't run double duelist comp with this. You'd have to put leaf second duelist and then what, double inititator? You don't have a viper player or a senti then, sure Brawk can play vyse, but you can't play the vyse on every map (and it's a nerfed agent).
At this point just ditch Ethan and pick a senti player like Skuba or Cortezia. Skuba can even play Viper so it leaves Leaf with more freedom to flex other agents.
i mean the champs winners played double initiator on almost all the maps ( lotus they used vyse as an initator when the flash gave info) and g2 did this as well at rbhg so it is still viable if not meta. On maps where they run double controller it would be leaf vayln. on maps they want double initiator it would be brawk ethan. I think double dueslit sucks but if u have to have it Ethan used to play yoru back when it wasnt meta on eg and I think he could play it like a kayo now. The only trouble you would run into is if you want to run double smokes plus a Senti but that's pretty rare. but again in rbhg bawk flex to kj so its something they believe can work
But why would you not want to run double duelist when you have Aspas on your team? And all initiators were nerfed on the recent patch and the meta may shift from double initiator. You want some flexibility on your team comps.
Even then you can still run double initiator without Ethan on the team, that's literally how G2 destroyed NRG at RBHG, they put leaf on initiator with Trent and Baybay on senti.
It's not like Ethan is a huge firepower upgrade over other names. Ethan was valuable in NRG because he was an IGL and a veteran who paired well with the rookies. When you already have a roaster with experienced players and an IGL Ethan is just not needed at all.
There's ZERO reason to have Ethan on this team. Literally just put Skuba over him and this team is 1000% better.
initiators getting nerfed across the board will lead to more initiators per comp imo, info gathering util is scarce so teams will lean into multiple agents for info gathering (initiators) and double duelist is bad there I said it. DRX caught a couple off teams off with it in champs but that gimmick won't be sustainable over the whole season.
Doesn't take away anything I said, you can already run double initiator without Ethan.
true trent is good, i wanted to limit myself to two players per roster but I have no issue with trent here
didnt consider crashies because hes been in eu for 2 years but i still would put brawk higher, guy is a grinder and he is so young into his tier 1 career. and he frags heavy without the odin https://www.vlr.gg/530912/sentinels-vs-nrg-vct-2025-americas-stage-2-lbf. Leaf is just him he is seriously flexing his range by playing initator this rbhg and i think his floor is better than skubas ceiling tbh
I put crashies mainly because he is my favorite player. I’d much rather have skuba than leaf though because leaf tends to disappear in big games
im going to have to disagree with you on the leaf choking in big games narrative. I think a lot of it is recency bias with the drx series (he did underperform there) but in the prx game he was the only bright spot. Geng in Toronto in that comeback series he was a huge factor. You could argue bangkok finals was an underperformance and I would be inclined to agree. More often times tho its a team collapse and not just leaf being an anchor down
I think the narrative is justified. Even last year he often underperformed in big games
