And I agree. t2 should have better incentives than gc. I think the better incentives in gc is more detrimental for it. It's similar to jp t2 scene. I don't see a reason why gc players would be motivated to progress and upgrade to higher tier leagues when they have such insane incentives.
They should modify the gc system which provides slots for t2 or even t1 rather ngl.
I meant to say instead of getting better incentives than t2 they should rather get a slot in higher tier. I think it would be fun to watch how well they can do against t1 or t2 teams in an actual serious event. Would give them the exposure too.
Put t1 and T2 aside, we have seen them getting destroyed by T3 and t4. No one enjoys seeing one sided games.
highers peak != higher avg viewership, i think the gc price pool is fine but riot should do more with t2, especially after the sea soop debacle
GCC also had higher average viewership than Americas, EMEA and Pacific Ascension combined. I agree Riot need to help tier2 more though

GC gets more motion than an international event with franchise teams, even if it was the mickey one, its still insane. Many people also dont watch GC because of misogyny and transphobia, or are just not interested in it.
But still more people tuned in to watch MIBR GC vs SRB than Fnatic vs Team Heretics

The VCT Americas Ascension tournament had a peak viewership of only: 97.341
EMEA Ascension was even worse with: 70.391
For Riot, It doesnt make sense to put more money in a tournament that has no motion
maybe nobody isn’t watching ascension because the format is ass and only the grand finals matter
Most of the players and teams are just not interesting to watch
Maybe ENVY is an exception for the NA niche because they had players who regularly stream
But other than that, the big superstars that people want to watch are already in franchise.
Tier 2 players should definitely work harder to advertise their image. In my case, I only knew a few tier 2 NA players by name because of Aspas streams playing ProCity, if it wasnt for that, i would have no idea of who tf those people are
The format of the tournament is okay, and the context of the Grand Final, where only the winner ascends is a very high stakes game that should attract way more viewers, but it just doesnt. 97k and 70k were the peak views of the Ascension Grand Finals of 2 whole regions

why does everyone always have to go "oh gc shouldnt have this support" instead of "t2 should ALSO have this much support". it doesnt have to be one or the other they can just treat t2 better
