how do yall think he will play I would have prefered Lar0k, Creamy, Favian, Johnqt, Crewen, there are so many good options how do yall think he will play?

will be straight ass. was mid on gentlemates and fnatic think he's a good replacement for chron lmao
idk how good he is either but cojo always signs decent players
id never heard of hiro either but he turned out pretty good
Idk hiro was a top perfromer in the turkey league so he was a big prospect and the same goes for most other players they sign. Kaajak Chron and Leo were all known to be great before signing to fnc and even before then Alfa for example was also a huge prospect.
Its not like fnatic ever really signs "hidden gems", they sign people that, if you look at their career so far, clearly have insane potential. Kaajak was THE up and coming duelist, Crashies was a very experienced player, Chron and Leo were obviously proven to be great... Veqaj is the first time in a long long time that they just signed someone thats clearly just kinda decent. Hes not a young up and comer or an experienced veteran. Hes an okay player of average age for vct with average experience and average performances. As much as I want to believe in the FNC roster everything about this screams compromise for lower salary. I think they really messed up by not investing in young talent here. But I also wouldnt mind being proven wrong here. Theres always a chance he will just have a glowup at the right time and place. Still, I dont think ive ever been less confident in a fnatic roster move.
Enzo made sense, he looked really good on alliance, and done a good job subbing in for braveaf. he earned it. Veqaj looked good on a completely different role in t2, and looked mid on the role he played in t1. that doesnt give me confidence he can switch to another new role, and do good enough so that FNC will still be contenders for winning an international trophy.
Pretty much this. People always say fnatic are some insane talent finders. But if you look back at most moves in the past theyve always made sense even beforehand. This one is very different.
Pretty good aim wise and hardworking player obv cant be compared to Chronicle but interesting prospect Fnatic still gonna be top team next season idk about the roles tho
I have faith on CoJo he always recognizes potential within players which others fail to notice
As much as i like cojo, i highly doubt hes the one actually finding the players. Hes the manager usually its the coaches job.
edit:
Veqaj to FNC has to be because of money. Sheydos was trialing with KC/TL, who probably offered him better. Lar0k is the same deal. Favian just doesnt fit the roles. Kicks potential sub for Sayonara. No Vo0kashu makes sense now, he had to be bought out from DRG. Chiwa is the same on BBL, would have to be bought out. Johnqt? he'd probably rather be main IGL, and get payed more than be 2nd caller. It feels the same as what happened after VIT/TL's failed super teams, they had to save money and brought in kinda decent players from T2 (keiko being the exception) and hoped theyd become good which obviously 4/5 didn't, but even then keiko was insane so it was expected that'd he do good.
(Anyone saying he was the best on a bad team is delusional, he was mid at most on a bad team. Completely disrespecting Minny & Comeback saying he was their best player. Can even argue he was the 4th worst on that team, because statistically Kamyk had better overall stats.)
Eh I wouldnt say its entirely just money that they picked him. They ended up signing him very quickly after trials and its not like weve seen sheydos or whoever make any verbal agreements yet. With Lar0k - I assume he just actually isnt interested in leaving pcfc. I believe they actually preferred veqaj over the other people they trialled (sheydos, favian, kicks and whoever, im pretty sure cojo said they never trialled vookashu), but of course the money still played a role here, if it didnt then they just wouldnt have let chron leave to begin with. I think they were looking for middle of the pack kind of players and he just happened to work the best for them out of those players.
it feels the same as soulcas. does really good in trials/scrims, teammates/friends say hes really talented because of what he does in pubs/scrims, but when hes played officials hes looked mid asf. only time i thought soulcas was somewhat insane was for TL in LCQ for 2022 champs. soulcas was a really annoying player on TL during LCQ, not insane stats wise, but he won some rounds that TL should've lost. But when TL got to champs he looked not even the same. then continued to be bad for liquid in 2023.
We have no idea how he will perform, let's see how it goes.
Maybe we can see in Red Bull Off season how he fits in the team.
tbh i doubt lar0k was even an option for fnc at this point so maybe they didnt prefer veqaj they just couldntget any better, though i still feel like favian mightve been a better option idk its a very confusing move
Bro trust me veqaj is very good, every person who actually watched m8 can confirm HIS ceiling is very high.
1) fnc has a history with getting Young people to reach very high levels
2) watch for example the defense on Ascent VS TH
his only good game was against TH, and M8 still lost? he's not a young up and coming talent either like the others. hes played in t1 and looked mid. unlike the others who looked really good in their scenes before joining.
Bro was a pretty good duelist before comeback came and took his role, did not do bad on recon considering it was new for him
He is a beast on duelist, he wasn't good off-role on m8s but he won't have to play recon on fnatic, but he will still be off role so idk tbh. We'll see, he has the potential to be very good for sure, all fnatic fans can do is trust boaster on this one
To give him some credit I think recon ini is probably one of the hardest roles to swap to if youre not experienced, filling mostly senti and viper (presumably) should at least be an easier adjustment
this and boaster and milan should be very good at making him learn the viper stuff due to the amount of experience and knowledge they have in that department
He will definitely be more comfortable on fnatic and probably end up performing better. The question is how much better he really can perform. I doubt he will end up being shit or anything. But fnatic should not be the type of org to settle for "not shit".
unfortunately they have to do with the budget available, otherwise they woulda kept Chron. All they can do is work and hope that they devellop his potential as much as possible
Of course yeah. I still feel however that they wouldve been better off betting in a young tier 2 unproven kid and hoping for insane talent than settling for like a decent safe bet. Time will tell but oh well.
echo looked ok on a stacked ULF roster, plays the same roles as chronicle did, breach being the difference. plus i saw he had the lock//in buddy on in ascension. he would be a better replacement.
Stop acting like veqaz wasn't farming emea t2.. He alteast got t1 exp now..
teams like ulf & bcf gonna end up like fodder teams in t1.. And all stats gonna look bad in t1.
farming t2 teams on duelist. (his main role) against, having to learn a new role, that isnt even close to that role he farmed on, as well as playing much harder teams. hm... i wonder?
edit:
EMEA & Americas t2 scenes are completely different btw. EMEA's t2 teams are significantly worse than t1 teams. Americas t2 teams are actually capable of going or challenging for t1 internationals because majority of t2 players, played t1 before franchising, whereas all t2 teams in EMEA are either up and coming young talent, or washed up t1 & t2 players that won't be picked up. (not even washed up, just the really bad t1 players that got replaced by better players.)
I think this is going to be another test of Boaster's skills as an igl. People thought Kaajak was a downgrade and he ended up having a 100 times better year than Derke and was easily the #1 rookie of the year. If someone is going to unlock Veqaj's potential it's Boaster and the FNC coaching staff.
I think Larok was the best option but Veqaj's ceiling is unknown. He farmed t2 and performed solidly on a lesser team while playing on off role.
people thought kaajak was a downgrade purely because of who he was replacing, not because he was bad (he was literally the best player FNC could've replaced derke with from T2). me personally, i'm not thinking hes a downgrade because of who he's replacing, anyone FNC got would've been a downgrade, veqaj is just one of the worst downgrades FNC could've got. his ceiling can be figured out, has decent aim, can be really good if put on duelist, but already shown before if hes put on anything other than duelist hes mid (Literally Sayf). he was statistically the 4th worst player on M8, yes he was forced onto a new role, but is that not whats going to happen to him on FNC?
edit: the more i think about it, the more i dont understand it. assuming FNC started trialing when chron left, which is like 5-6 days ago. why pick up a player this early in off season? the only reason i think they done that for, was to find a player who meshed well with the team and was cheap enough to get. then theyd spend the 2 months remaining in off season left to try and develop them into a good enough player within those roles :/ but even then most teams would rather get a player who is comfortable on the roles needed, who meshed well with the team, and just grow chemistry between the players, and at the same time turn them into a god.
but is that not whats going to happen to him on FNC?
he stated that he’s LFT as a flex
why pick up a player this early in off season?
they picked crashies up late in the off season and it costed them kickoff, granted they had elmapussy but the chemistry simply wasn’t there with him and with most teams completing their rosters i suppose they didn’t want to wait too long
he stated that he’s LFT as a flex
Ok? And i said: "he was forced onto a new role, but is that not whats going to happen to him on FNC?". We've seen what happens when he got forced onto a new role? He was mid on recon initiator. Now he needs to learn senti/viper/initiator, while dealing with all the other factors of joining a new team. It's going to end exactly like Sayf on Vitality. (not him being a weirdo) Hes showed that he cant change roles, and only can play duelist. This isn't a good move for FNC like everyones trying to make it seem.
Elmapuddy was the problem on that team, not because crashies joined too late? Elmapuddy was on FNC for way too long, they gave him too much time as HC and its what fucked them in kickoff. They eventually removed Elmapuddy and put Milan as HC, then a month later FNC qualed to toronto. Crashies was performing the exact same the whole year as how he was in kickoff, maybe slightly better but it was basically the same performance from him. They had a shit HC, 2 new players, a new meta & a bad map pool.
